    WORST BUY EVER. Extremely disappointing!

My UPC WiFi router has better range!
In the same position I have a UPC router and the X6S (as AP). I get better signal on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz in the whole house with the UPC router. From such expensive device I expected
much much more. Even my older Netgear WN3000RP EXTENDER has better range/performance. Extremely disappointed!!

    Pro

    • NOTHING

    Contra

    • Performance
    • Price
    • Must register to netgear.com to configure the device (are we kidding??)
    • It's extremely big

    Versatile and reliable extender.

I used the device as a replacement for the AC repeater from Netgear (EX7000). The new Nighthawk X6S Mesh Extender exceeds my expectations :-)
I now use one as a reapeater via LAN connection and another one then via WLAN
and it works perfectly. The mobile devices are connected smoothly to the new mesh system and I have absolutely no interruptions, no matter where I am.

    Pro

    • can be connected easily and without problems (via LAN and/or WLAN)
    • User manual is simple and only contains the most necessary information
    • can be controlled/analyzed via mobile app (Netgear Up and WiFi Analystics)
    • signal anywhere between 71% and 100% and 351 to 866 Mbps and at least 163.5 MBit/s
    • Mesh network (see also the article on this website)

    Strong repeater

Strong repeater, with reserves for the future. Setting up the repeater was easiest for me via iPad, configuration gui did not start with other devices, but I also had this problem with other Netgear devices. Triband or FastLane 3 only works if the router supports it or the extender is configured as an AP. But it is also fast enough.

    Pro

    • Power
    • 4 Lan ports
    • Readyshare
    • Triband available
    • Router can be hotspot (Android), no problem

    Contra

    • A bit bitchy at first start-up
    • Advertising somewhat misleading regarding triband
    • iPhone as hotspot was unstable
