Digitec promised me that these radios would work with the USA version of the radios so i bought 12 of them.
they arrived and didnt not work with the USA radios as promised.
i then drove 1.5 hours to the Bern digitech store to customer service as i was told to do. The customer service guy was extremely unhelpful and had no idea what he was talking about and offered no help whatsoever except for and 'oh well'
i drove back home disapointed.

Works well, but 10 km range is utopian, especially in the mountains and forest.

Do not buy it under any circumstances.
On an open stretch (Wädenswil boat station - Männedorf boat station) with visual contact and a distance of a good 4 km across Lake Zurich, nothing but hissing could be heard from the radio. The radios had all been tested beforehand and were running perfectly within a radius of 50 m with a full battery charge.
We reported this to Digitec, suspecting that the wrong type of radio had been delivered. Digitec consulted Motorola, whereupon we were told that the water of Lake Zurich could have disturbed the radio waves. Oh well.
In the meantime we tried to use the devices again, this time testing them from Bachtel on a clear autumn morning down to Hinwil ZH, almost 3.5 kilometres as the crow flies. The sound was received clearly at the bottom, but not a single beep came back "up". Not with any device. (We had two upstairs, two downstairs). What else are we supposed to think? Was the radio traffic from Zurich airport just in the way this time?
Digitec accommodated us somewhat on the price. We can still write off the devices, they are completely unusable and we had nothing but trouble with them.
