I use the new Type Cover with the Surface Pro 4.
The keyboard is very good and pleasant to type on. The biggest advantage is that the keys are spaced apart compared to the old Type Cover. I also like the discreet backlighting.
The trackpad is bigger than on the older keyboard. Unfortunately, the clicking noise is a bit loud when the keyboard is set up.

Although it is advertised as a black cover, it is rather dark grey (I have received several questions as to whether this is really the black model - I am probably not entirely alone in my perception of the colour).
The cover magnetically snaps into place on the Surface, you just have to hold it close and it slides into place by itself and stays there.
It can be turned on its back to use the Surface as a pure tablet (and then switches off), or it can be slightly jacked up at the back to set it at a slight angle.
The backlight can be adjusted to several levels and there are FN buttons for Surface volume and Start/Stop for media playback. A complete cursor block including PrtScn, Home, End, Pageup/Pagedown, Ins and Del round out the keys.
Colleagues who have compared it with the Type Cover of the Surface 3 and have also successfully tried it out on it rave about it - I can't make the comparison myself, but it seems to be clearly in favour of the new cover. The keystroke is excellent for a keyboard of this thickness and better than I expected. The touchpad is also responsive and has a good pressure point with mechanical feedback for the click.

I agree with the others.
The keyboard is great: it's pleasant to write on. The keys are also spaced apart and not "one surface" like on the predecessor. The lighting is also very pleasant and adjustable. The trackpad is also larger and much more pleasant to use. I couldn't work precisely at all on the SFPro 3 with the Pro3 keyboard. and there is a new PrtScn button!
