When I ordered the Ultrabook, I had my doubts about the durability of the Alcantara. But after I unpacked the Surface Laptop, I was thrilled! The Alcantara together with the keyboard is very pleasant. I'm still curious to see what the Surface will look like in 1-2 years.
The battery really does last a long time. However, the 14.5 hours stated are a bit too high. However, I also immediately upgraded to the "real" Windows 10, which should have a negative effect on the battery life. I still managed about 8-9 hours with intensive use and higher display brightness.
Talking about the display brightness: Even in sunny weather, the display is still bright enough for everything to be clearly visible. As is often the case, the display is a little reflective, but that's not a problem for me. Microsoft could have done without the touch function, as the display cannot be folded down and used as a tablet. The screen ratio of 3:2 is a dream for all those who often work in Word etc. You have to scroll less and have more in view.
The fan seems almost superfluous, it only starts under heavy load (4k Youtube, installing various software, etc). When the fan "gets going", it is quite loud and clearly audible. However, in practice, which is what this laptop was built for, this will happen very rarely.Pro

A very successful design. I can recommend it to anyone who is looking for a compact notebook and does not necessarily need a 2in1.
Very well made and lightweight book. Everything feels good. The casing, the palm rest made of Alcantara. The keyboard and touchpad are also top quality and respond excellently. The IPS screen is very bright and has a pleasantly high resolution for working and also for entertainment (video, gaming).
