    An all-round successful learning tool for computer science lessons at an unrivalled price.

    The mBot is an ingenious learning tool for didactic computer science teaching. We use the mBot robots at the University of Teacher Education St.Gallen for the training of our students and in further education with teachers. However, the robot is also ideally suited for pupils from the 4th / 5th grade level. The block-based programming environment (similar to Scratch) offers very low entry barriers without preventing extensive possibilities for scaling the level of challenge and/or difficulty. The 2.4Ghz version we use works perfectly in a class group and there are no / hardly any connection problems. Particularly worth mentioning is the expandability with additional sensors and actuators.

    • Great expandability through optional actuators and sensors
    • Block-based programming environment based on the school "programming language" Scratch
    • All competences of the curriculum21 are easily covered

    Contra

    • Fastening screws of the motors must be tightened regularly in case of intensive use
    • Straight running not 100% accurate

    2.4G version not mature

    Unfortunately, the wifi module does not work properly.
    I have therefore reordered the Bluetooth but have not yet tested it.
    App only works via USB or Bluetooth
