Good concept, but quality problems

I really enjoy working with the Big Knob Studio+ and as a long-time user of the 1604, Mackie has an excellent reputation with me to date.
Unfortunately, it gave up the ghost during the warranty period by starting to whistle (spectacularly and higher and higher) and then not making a sound via the outputs. The only thing missing was the smoke; although it did smell like it.
I use the unit extensively, but within spec and did not change anything in my operation before the incident.
It was repaired by Mackie under warranty without discussion. But now, five months later, exactly the same thing has happened again.
So I assume that in some way the unit was designed too tightly.
It's a pity, because this has also changed my image of Mackie.
