    Super OLED TV - recommended purchase!

    Super OLED TV. After our 2009 first generation Samsung LED TV gave up the ghost, we had to decide on a new TV. We didn't want Sony. Philips Ambilight is great, but it won't fit on my wall (because of the placement of the TV), so we had to choose between Samsung and LG. WebOS is new to us and we liked it. We don't regret the decision. 

    Pro

    • Best picture (According to personal assessment in the Digitec showroom and F1 broadcast)
    • Great webOS, stable, no crashes, versatile
    • Although the surface is smooth, the TV does not reflect
    • Sound is surprisingly good...of course a soundbar would be better

    Contra

    • LG TV plus app is not very good and only works via WLAN

    Very good

    The picture is extremely good, especially for UHD/4K content.
    Works perfectly with an LG soundbar via the HDMI ARC connection.
    You have to make a few adjustments until you get the optimal picture.

    The picture is actually     identical to the previous model, but the navigation is noticeably faster.

    In my opinion, webOS is the best operating system for a TV.

    Unfortunately, the device emitted a relatively loud beep (similar to tinnitus). However, LG is quick with the warranty claim and I am now waiting for the hopefully repaired device.     

    Pro

    • OLED = Absolute Black
    • webOS best operating system together with AndroidTV
    • Magic Remote can be used as a universal remote control for certain devices
    • Warranty repair was organised quickly (within 3 days)
    • webOS is faster compared to the previous model
    • Netflix and Amazon Prime Video button
    • Much better picture than LED/LCD TVs

    Contra

    • Wider stand compared to predecessor model (+feels less valuable)
    • Sound is acceptable but not to be compared with an additional solution (Soudbar etc.)
    • Unit emitted a tinnitus-like noise (but is currently under warranty repair)
    • App content is a bit sparse if you don't change the webstore location to UK
    • OLED can burn in, but can be easily avoided

    Buy recommendation!

    Top TV. Switched from the 'old' Full HD Lg to this new one. The picture is simply breathtaking. Everything top.
