I ordered 6 Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen 1 and 2 for my company.
I noticed that USB-C docking is working really bad. The reason is encapsulation of too many protocol of data transfer in one connector (Screem, usb, network, power etc.)
Computers freeze when locking windows session, reconnecting after unplugging it does the same. Lose screens and network connexion from time to time...
DO NOT BUY IT for business.
Lenovo don't sell them as a bundle with laptop anymore because of hardware issues with X1 models.
However Lenovo has a Thunderbolt 3 Docking which look the same but with 135 W and works much better!

The product description on digitec HP did not mention that the resolution is limited to max. 1920 x 1080 when connecting two monitors (DP in my case). Consequently, the higher resolution of monitors such as 2560 x 1440 cannot be used.

The product description states that the station only supplies 60W. I am not criticising that either.
The problem is Lenovo's FW. Every now and then, when you have connected a device (in my case a ThinkPad P1 2nd Gen), one or more monitors simply switch off. If you're lucky it comes back, otherwise you have to disconnect and reconnect the station. Then the monitors may work again.
There are also problems if you open Spotify or Netflix after "longer" (~3h) use. Then the screen turns off and you get an "ant race" like with old tube TVs.
The FW of my device and the drivers on the notebook are up to date.
The problem also occurs with other docking stations (namely the Thunderdock).
From what it sounds like in the support forums, the problem is actually known. They just can't seem to get a fix in a row.
