A professional quality espresso delivered by a domestic machine with an extremely fast heating time.

I was looking for a professional standard espresso machine (58 mm non-pressurized filter holder, thermal stability, temperature control, efficient steam nozzle). After hesitating, I didn't want to buy one with a Lelit Mara E61 group because I only brew a few coffees a day. Indeed, I absolutely did not want to wait up to 30 minutes for the machine to heat up and be functional. This does not meet my needs. I wanted to turn on my machine when I wanted a coffee and wait 5 or 10 minutes at the most. I hesitated with the Swiss Zuriga model which is small and very beautiful. I finally preferred this Lelit Victoria for its low price and its additional options (temperature control, cup warmer, steam) and which perfectly fulfills my expectations of a machine delivering an excellent coffee and heating up quickly. It is indeed ready in 5 to 10 minutes which is clearly what I expect from it in the morning. This fast heating time does not compromise on the thermal stability of the machine which delivers the extraction water at a perfect temperature. The result in the cup is simply excellent.

In terms of extraction quality, the machine is clearly on a par with the best professional machines. If you already have experience with a semi-professional machine, you will quickly find the settings and adjustments to make to produce a very high quality coffee. For beginners, a learning curve will be necessary to master the different parameters that make a successful coffee (choice and quality of coffee, size of the grind, weight, tamping, temperature, extraction time). For an excellent result, a good grinder (about 400 francs) is also required as well as a freshly roasted espresso blend. With these compromises, you won't notice any difference between your coffee in a cup and the best espressos you can drink in Italy. Unlike capsule coffees that foam artificially but are very clear underneath their over-foaming, the coffee delivered by the Victoria has body and produces creamy coffee (which is not the foam of capsules). Successfully extracted, the coffee is thick and brings out the aromas of the blend in a distinct way. It is a real pleasure for coffee lovers.

Am satisfied, would buy the product again

Ideal for home use when drinking espresso and cappuccino. Good single-circuit with small blemishes.

    Pro

    • Fine espresso
    • Quick switch to steam mode
    • Steam nozzle functional and easy to use, foaming succeeds quickly
    • Timer (even if only purely informative, without shut-off mechanism)
    • Automatic cleaning with blind sieve
    • Various setting options, with googling you also find access to "hidden" features
    • Large distance between the coffee tray and the plunger (also possible to use with tall cups)
    • Stainless steel drip tray
    • Machine made of brushed metal
    • New, "flat" plunger design allows tamping without protective base

    Contra

    • Plastic water tank
    • Water tank is a tad too wide, gets scratched when inserting and removing screws/tabs
    • Metal edges are sometimes sharp
    • Despite automatic: return from steam to coffee mode takes a long time
    • Drawing with single filter much more difficult than with double filter
    • Sieves can partly only be removed with great effort
