Works - quality just ok for the price.

    ## AFTERNOON experience ## The device works fine, but the buttons are not good. I don't use the mouse anymore. The steurung of the ball with the hand is sensational and you get used to it really fast. The killer point for me, however, are really the buttons : it is already unusual enough to click / double-click with the thumb. I am also convinced that the poor quality of the keys plays a big role. If the keys would click softly and smoothly, then I think I could have adjusted to it. Unfortunately not.

I would like to say that despite regular cleaning, I can't use the ball as sensitively as the mouse. The advantage plays out the ball for me purely in the "space requirement" on the table, with large screens (music editing with 40" eg.). Since kommtts not on the absolute fineness, but to quickly put back a lot of distance on the screen and on the work table not accordingly also not much space to need.

I am curious about the long-term test, because you have to get used to this kind of input. The following notes : it was hard for me to find the "right" product from Kensington. There are a few reviews, but they are more related to this type of mouse. You have to get used to replacing your index finger with your thumb for the daily "left mouse click", but all the reviews think it works well after a few weeks. Nothing squeaks for me, the quality feel of the ball seems good to me. What was already clear to me just based on the pictures that I will not like the keys well. That is actually the case. The 4 keys are rather medium quality unfortunately. I would gladly pay more to be able to have higher quality keys. The material of the housing / keys I do not like so much, but I'll probably get used to it quickly.

    Pro

    • Ball runs perfectly, top quality
    • Size of the ball

    Contra

    • inferior key quality (loud click, much travel)
    • Material of the surface (housing / keys)

    Very pleasant trackball.
Trackball itself very large and accurate to control. The 4 keys and also combinations can be freely assigned.
Very nicely solved: scrolling by turning the trackball.
    Very good workmanship.
    For
me, very good as an ergonomic alternative to the mouse, as long as I can switch between both - the whole day on the trackball would not seem 100% ergonomic to me either.

    Chic with potential for improvement

Works well, especially under Linux (no additional software needed). Needs a palm rest, otherwise a bit steep for the wrist. Position and click-feel in the keys seems a bit cheap and the key positions take some getting used to as a former mouse user.

    Pro

    • Works out-of-the-box under Linux
    • High accuracy, stable ball
    • Looks chic

    Contra

    • Somewhat cheap buttons
    • Not quite as comfortable as expected
