Top laptop for mobile work and simple games

I pre-ordered the laptop, the I5 variant without touchscreen, and received it a few days late. There is also a model with an I7 processor and touchscreen. Alternatively, there is also the Matebook X Pro premium device.

    The
scope of delivery includes a quick charging cable with power plug and the Mate Dock with HDMI, USB port, VGA and USB-C port.

The Matebook 13 only has one USB-C connector and another USB-C connector for charging.
After setting it up, I immediately started testing it.
When starting up, simply place one of the registered fingers on the power button and the Matebook is unlocked immediately after start-up, as the fingerprint sensor is integrated in the button.
The keyboard is pleasant to type on and the mouse pad is also OK.

The Matebook has a high-quality finish and looks great. The Huawei lettering with logo on the back also looks very nice. However, when you drive over it, it looks like a cheap sticker.

The Matebook 13 is suitable for working on the road or at home and everything runs smoothly.
I always take it with me in the laptop bag (see picture). (This is not included in the delivery and cannot be bought anywhere).

Games are no problem either. Games like Sid Meier's Civilisation, Sims City Deluxe work perfectly.

For people like me who use a Huawei smartphone, Huawei Share might be worth mentioning.
With Huawei Share, pictures, videos and documents can be transferred wirelessly from the smartphone to the Matebook and vice versa. This is extremely fast. Auto sync. also allows you to back up all photos from your phone to your laptop. My 1700 photos were transferred within a few minutes. The laptop also recognises text in the pictures and can then use it for a document.

The Matebook 13 has replaced my old Samsung laptop and I am more than satisfied and can only recommend the Matebook!

    Ideal for travelling

Digitec should supply the full part number as there are many variants of this model, even with the same CPU. The one I received when "on special offer" was not touchscreen. Not a big problem but it should be made clear in the advert which variant is being sold.

    Pro

    • Thin, light and very portable
    • Fan rarely comes on
    • Decent battery life

    Contra

    • Lack of ports means you'll probably have to buy another USB C to Ethernet or card reader
    • Track pad not great quality
  • Screwdriver

    Clear buy recommendation

For 700, you get a top device here. A comparable Macbook costs twice as much. Of course, the performance is not quite enough for intensive work, but for everything else -> unreserved purchase recommendation.

    Negative is
the very reflective DIsplay and the strange default partitioning, just 80GB for C:/ ???. I immediately re-installed Windows to change this.

    Pro

    • Super P/L
    • 2k display
    • Decent performance
    • Small and handy
    • Integrated fingerprint sensor

    Contra

    • Display strongly reflective
    • Weak battery
