    Actually a good device if there were not the problems with the software installation...

    Unpacked, power connected and running. Software installation under Win 10 32bit runs without problems. Under Windows 10 64bit it is a disaster! Software installation runs forever (~20min) and then aborts. Tried several times with installation / uninstallation with the latest software from the Internet, with software from the supplied CD, firmware upgrade, nothing helped. The posts in the HP support forum were not really helpful either. After hours, I found the following article in the English-language support forum: h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/M477-soft... This solved the problem in 5 minutes.

    I think I figured out the issue, windows 10 installs its own driver and the installer is waiting for the hp driver to install.

    DO THIS DURING THE HP INSTALL PROCESS (when the percentage counter is going)
    1. go into the device manager and find the printer in the list of devices
    2. right click on the printer and select "Update Driver software". 3.
    Click "Browse my computer for driver software". 4.
    Select "Let me pick from...." 5.
    5. select the driver named: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477 PCL-6 (Make sure its the one with a dash between the pcl and 6!)
    6. click next and go back to the hp install box and it should now see the printer and continue the install.

    Sorry HP, after 6 months the problem should be fixed and the software packages updated on the website!

    • WLAN (printer is now in a corner where I only have electricity)

    • Installation under Windows 10 64 bit is a disaster
    • Fan relatively loud

    I can recommend

    I have had the printer since 8 January 2016 and am satisfied.
    - Quick installation: if you know your way around a bit, it works very quickly. But you can't do anything too wrong
    - If you want to switch on all the functions     it offers, then it takes a little time. It took me about 3 hours, but I'm not that experienced and had to discover a few things (e.g. e-print, registration, etc.).
    - Good print quality and very fast (compared to the predecessor; hp m375)
    ----------
    - When scanning, this printer is like its predecessor: the feed is always a bit skewed, but maybe that will correct itself over time. The scans are good, though.

    Ideal for a small business, I can only recommend it :-)

    Can recommend the printer without reservation!

    I have been using the printer for a week. Ordered online on Friday at 17:00 and the postman delivered the huge package on Saturday at 08:00. Respect!
    About the printer:
    - excellently packaged
    - Easy installation and commissioning
    -     Print quality 1a
    - Fax works perfectly
    - Scanning also completely problem-free
    - Apple Airprint also works straight away
    - Printer is automatically recognised by other PCs in the network, no local installation required
    - Fan noise a bit loud, but can be reduced via settings
    - Printing costs are relatively high (around 10 centimes per page), but we'll see.
    All in all, an excellent device at an attractive price
