The cable itself has no defects, I used it for...
The cable itself has no defects, I used it for top sound quality for movies between my onBoard sound card and my Logitech Z-5500 speakers.

But since I also want to game in 5.1, I'm wrong with the optical cable and have sold it again. At least with my sound card, 5.1 gaming via SPDIF is not possible.
