Very slow but very good navigation

5'800km in 14 days through Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia and practically always worked very well.

I have set Garmin Adventurous Routing to full curves and mountains, as well as to avoid motorways and it only
wanted to lead me 1x on a motorway.

Sometimes it leaves the main road for a few miles because the side road has a few curves and a slight incline. This is sometimes tedious (especially when everything is limited to 30km/h). But otherwise it chooses nice roads and passes to the destination.

Pros and cons can be viewed below. Will keep updating the rating if possible.

Addendum: Can't use it in Germany, it keeps wanting to avoid the autobahn despite being on the autobahn (probably because it doesn't cost anything there). Have tried it with different settings, but all brings nothing.

A device with a solid and compact design, but with a lot of room for improvement in the hardware layer, especially in navigation

The device is solidly built and compact. However, as someone who has always used TomTom car GPS, I am very confused by the interface and by the readability of the map. It is too complex to read, the route to follow is too small for me and it is difficult to orientate oneself, especially in town. It is also very difficult to find your way around roundabouts, the exit to take is difficult to read on the display. In this situation, the TomTom automatically increases the zoom level in a roundabout and the rotation is much smoother than on the Garmin.

I mainly bought this device to anticipate curves on roads I don't know. Here again, I was disappointed to find that some roads with small curves are drawn almost straight on the GPS.

No overview of the battery level when in navigation mode and without external power.

Overall, I am very disappointed by the software layer of this device.

    would not buy it again.

I wouldn't buy it again, the display is just too small and not exactly the highlight for the price. Take a bigger one or have a look at Tom-Tom.

    Pro

    • Lifetime update free of charge.

    Contra

    • slow red calculation
    • Display disappoints
    • the calculated route is not clearly visible.
