The watch as a product is good, BUT.....

The product itself is of high quality, the workmanship is good. You can adjust a lot of things, a bit elaborate, but really good. There is nothing to criticise about the product. My rating: 5 stars for the product (watch, workmanship, sensors, accuracy etc) 3 stars deduction for the associated software problems that you buy. The Garmin "Connect App", which is needed to view the data, works reasonably well.

You might expect to be able to read some of the data (steps, calories etc) from the Venu's watch face. The max. is 3 indications, one of which is the battery level of the watch, so only 2, too few. In the "IQ CONNECT APP" (Store/Updates) there are watch faces (apps) to download. You have to, as nothing useful is preinstalled. After downloading dials, my VENU was in a continuous loop for 7 hours. Display locked with codes for some external site, everything pretty in English, no explanation, no help from Garmin, nothing. I couldn't even read the time. (10 hours to fix.) I had fun with my Venu for 3 days after that, until the first update. Some music programme that I neither use nor need wanted to install itself, saying that the watch memory was full. After just 2 workouts? Hey? I couldn't uninstall it via this IQ app, it just kept reinstalling itself. Reset to factory settings, closed account, waited 2 days for garmin to delete everything. Everything reinstalled. Without success, everything started all over again. "Garmin Express App" had to be installed on the computer. Even my "nerd" needed over 2 hours to fix everything. Now it works, ...how long do you think?! Conclusion: too many software problems, instructions are available on the Garmin website, but mostly not for the problem that is currently apparent. Problems have existed for a long time (sometimes 1 year) and are not addressed by Garmin. It is a matter of luck whether the part works in everyday life. NEVER AGAIN GARMIN!

    Pro

    • good workmanship, pretty, comfortable on the wrist
    • reliable sensors and realistic calculation models
    • battery life quite good with correct setting
    • price performance forr the product appropriate
    • Differentiated data

    Contra

    • No usable watch faces preinstalled
    • .3 different apps needed for "handling"
    • It takes a long time to find the right place to tick the right box
    • ./contra><contra>IQ CONNECT APP, English technical language, confusing, "download loops"
    • Apps and updates that do not work
    • Help and support from Garmin
    • Hard to fix problems for mere mortals without a "nerd" around
    • Drink tracker has to be constantly added back to the overview
    • Absolutely user-unfriendly in interaction with software
    • The watch has cost over 25 hours of troubleshooting so far, have been using it for 10 days
