Cool watch. Price performance must each decide for themselves.

Keeps what it promises. Connection to Garmin Connect worked without any problems.
Garmin Pay with Revolut Mastercard set up. Map navigation very helpful
Display can be read very well (compared to Garmin 735XT). Is relatively
expensive and it must each decide for himself whether the new features are worth it. And let's be honest. 99% of us do not need this range of functions, but the child in man is happy anyway ;-)

8 years - and then this?

Switched from the Forerunner 610 after 8 years - this because the battery of the 610 is no longer usable. Since I had some running watches in the last 20 years, I was excited to use the (almost) latest technology.
    First
disillusionment before the 1st run early in the morning - stand there and wait until GPS is ready. Well, I thought - the first time the search will take longer. Day 2 and 3 - same starting point - waiting again. The Retro-610 took max. 4 seconds - now: 1,5 minutes.
Luxury problem? Considering the price and the state of development: no. Operation: the 610 had a touch screen - indeed. Why Garmin literally keeps their hands off it is beyond me. Always worked flawlessly on the 610. Instead, I'm now stuck with a "button up button down retro machinery" that reminds me of my first Casio from the eighties. Just as complicated as Rubik's Cube.
Positive the battery life and the weight. The case makes a good impression, the display is easy to read. What I particularly like (and reminds me of my very first Polar): when you look at the watch (arm movement), the display light turns on - very practical especially in the dark.
About the data fields / widgets / apps ...? Overengineering sells. Or?
I'm certainly not overly intelligent - but the setting of data fields or of certain apps I have not grabbed. The manual lacks a "menu tree" - a giant hamster hole that you first try to explore several times only to realize it's too big - breadcrumbs would be one approach - drawing does it.
Another strength is the uncomplicated connection via the smart phone. Updates are automatically imported without Terz - even on the chest strap.
Conclusion: you can buy, you do not have to. Would have kept the 610, if the battery could be replaced.
