The Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 convinced me functionally.
It scans very quickly and reliably. Paper jams almost never occur and the sheet recognition is excellent.
The OCR recognition for German text is also very high, even if it sometimes has a little trouble with umlauts.
The only downer is that the registered computer has to be running no matter what you scan.
For example, direct scanning into a network folder is possible, but only if the computer is running.
Changing the attached client also works more badly than well.
To change the client, it is not enough that the desired client was connected to the scanner via USB and WLAN and can then simply be selected.
No, to change it you have to attach it again via USB and start the procedure all over again.
Until then, I did not miss a touchscreen. It was only with the above problem that I saw that it would have been so easy to select a destination.
Scanning to the cloud is a joke.
You have to create an account with Fujitsu, which in turn stores the documents in Dropbox, for example.
Fujitsu: Are you kidding me? You have to enter the account information of the cloud provider...
I get nervous when I upload sensitive data to the cloud.
I would easily give it 5 stars if Fujtsu had made the software better.
It is only conditionally suitable for an office or several clients.

Actually good hardware. But since a short time ago you have to activate the device, so you can't just connect it and use it anymore. There are also problems when you use the device on more than one computer and the new "Home" software is a step backwards compared to the previous software, at least on the Mac ... Too bad!
