The V600 is dangerously close to its big brother, the V750. This is probably one of the reasons why it is used as an everyday scanner in many photo labs.

It is minimally slower than the 750 and offers a slightly lower optical
resolution (6400x9600 instead of 9600x9600) - which should be irrelevant in most cases. The optical resolution is sufficient to capture a medium format negative at more than 45 megapixels. More than most digital medium format cameras can deliver.

Thanks to infrared scanning (ICE), common dust levels are no problem; at moderate settings like 2400x2400, the V600 is also fast enough to comfortably digitize its archive. 35mm and APS are no problem either way, the results are in no way inferior to dedicated 135 scanners.

The software offers all the settings you could need in "professional" mode. SilverFast may be faster, but the results are absolutely comparable.

The scanner comes with matching masks/templates for 135, 120 and slide frames. For faster work, it is advisable to buy a second template for the desired format.

Once you have captured your photo archive, the scanner is not useless: A4 documents are captured quickly and in high quality. If you like, you can buy an optional document feeder. Here, as with film strips and slides, individual images of a template can be recognized and (automatically) saved separately.

If the device had a Firewire connection, the V7xx series would be unnecessary. But this way, one gets a high-quality, robust and fast scanner for films, slides and paper originals for little money.

I am absolutely satisfied with this scanner!
Speed and quality are very good.
The scanner is connected to a Windows 7 machine and works without any problems.
I think you need to know something about scanning to get good
    results,
I can recommend this scanner at any time.

    barely received, alreadyRating. MAC suitable???

    Delivery was extremely speedy.

Commissioning is delayed: the scanner is not MAC compatible, newer drivers are not to be found. My Mac is 3 years old and EPSON is extremely behind with updating the drivers.
    Am s e h r disappointed.
This was not apparent to me in the description.
