Top camera
Absolutely top camera!
Anyone who gives this device only 1 star either has no idea about photography or has never used the camera. The device convinces all along the line. I can't say whether it's worth switching from the Mark III.
I switched from the 6D to this one and am thrilled - even though the 6D is already a super camera.
Only the high price could be a negative point...Pro

Compared to the Sony a7r II...
My tip after two years with the Mk III: Keep it, don't change. The new EOS Mark 4 offers no innovations that are a real must-have, seen across the entire market. Never in my career have I wished for a "Dual Pixel RAW" system with which I could have subsequently put the focus "from the eyeglass frame to the eyes" (so the advertising).
But what I do: I am now buying the Sony a7r Mk. II. Take a look at this camera. What's in this compact body (0.340 kg. lighter than 5d body) casts a bad light on Canon's expensive bolides. With the Sigma MC-11 adapter, I can mount my L lenses on the Sony A7RII. I'll get back to you with a report on how the autofocus system works with the A7rII and Canon L-lens. For me, the Canon EOS 5dMk 4 has a price that I can no longer comprehend and the vaunted advances over the Mk III can be compensated for 90% by all those who write here with our good photographic craftsmanship.
