very quiet
= totally silent, not only the STM AF but also the IS is silent (compared e.g. with the 55-250 IS II (without STM) which is noisy, and especially compared with the much more expensive 100/2.8L IS USM macro which has extremely noisy IS. The noise of the IS is very annoying when filming without a tripod, but with this 55-250 IS STM I can also film in silent places.
Very sharp
and it is actually still quite bright : only from 155mm it is f/5.6 . It is brighter between 55-85mm than the twice as expensive 15-85 3.5-5.6 , because at 55mm it is f/4 while the 15-85 is at 55 already f/5.1 and reaches f/5.6 already at 61mm .... the 55-250 IS STM is at 85mm still 4.7 .

A great lens for APS-C cameras because it is light and small. Of course, optically there are better and faster lenses that also produce less vignetting. But you can take it with you much faster and you don't need a huge camera bag for it.
