@tokyodrift1993: The connector must not be connected anywhere except to a Hydra Pro from Bitfenix. Otherwise you can only switch the lighting on or off via the plug that sits on it.
I find the fan quite good, especially at 7V and 12V it is much more pleasantly noisy than my previous Deepcool UF140 and still cools the plates very well. But what's a bit negative is that Bitfenix doesn't include a note that the LED connection must never be connected to a power supply, otherwise there could be a short circuit. Unfortunately, they only give this information on the website. Quote from website FAQs: The 2 pin cable has an attached cable loop. This cable is to turn on/off your LED's at your convenience. Do not plug it into a power source as there will be an electrical short and will burn your fan and cables. You can also attach this loop to our Hydra Pro fan controller for on-the-fly LED on/off. "

Good, no background noise audible even when turned down (for this reason, 3 of the highly praised AeroCool Shark fans recently flew out of my case within a very short time. The background noise was simply annoying, no matter where and how they were installed - unless the fans were running at full blast, then the noise of the airflow simply drowned out everything). The review from 6.1.2014 here about not simply connecting the LED cable of the Bitfenix anywhere was also helpful. I am satisfied.
The Fractal Design fans in my case are a bit quieter than the Bitfenix (also turned down to the minimum so that the fans just start), but these are not LED fans. That's why the Bitfenix sits at the back of my ARC XL, and I have Fractal Design fans at the front and towards the top, where I have now managed the lighting using flexlights after the disappointment with the AeroCool Shark.
