I am quite satisfied with the W2000. It is not enough for rapturous enthusiasm, but the price/performance ratio is very good and the W2000 is just about suitable for my room conditions.
In detail:
- Colour reproduction: very good. I don't notice the colour deviations at the edges as long as I don't consciously think about them.
- The sound: astonishingly good. This is irrelevant in a home cinema, where a completely different category comes into its own, but for presentations in the shop or at gaming parties it's quite nice if you don't have to drag along speakers.
- Luminous flux: 2000 lumens, well, so-so. You shouldn't overdo it with the projection distance (see below).
- Fan noise: audible, but okay if the projector is not operated close to the ear.
- Horizontal and vertical distortion correction are adequate for my room situation, but with rooms that are too high and ceiling projection, offset and lens shift quickly reach their limits.
- Throw ratio: At 1.5 - 1.15, the W2000 is suitable for short to medium distances. Example: I am sitting 3 m from the screen. I could easily place the projector at a distance of 4.50 m and a height of 2.30 m, but then the image width would be already at least 3 m. Due to the lack of a suitable ceiling (double the room height), I now have to place the beamer on a projection stand, which is not ideal. I knew this beforehand, but I didn't have much choice, as the range of beamers with a larger throw ratio is somewhat limited.
- Lamp life: 3500 hours, which is so-so. The manual says that the lamp replacement warning appears regardless of the mode in which the projector is operated (normal/eco). You should replace the lamp in any case, as you may not know how long you have operated the projector in which mode. Nice try, but with beamers for home video use, you can get over a failure if necessary.

Completely satisfied with the projector, I would buy it again! For a good film experience, the room needs to be darkened, but that applies to all beamers. The noise emissions are a little higher than expected, but I don't find it annoying. The slots basically planned for the matching wireless kit (HDMI and micro-USB) inside the case are basically clever. It's just a pity that Google's Chromecast dongle can't be placed there because of its round shape. However, other wireless transmitters with a stick shape can be connected invisibly in this way.

My first beamer. So I can't compare, but only say what surprises me: Firstly, the thing is really loud (even in eco mode). Apparently it is one of the quieter devices, so I don't want to hear the others. Secondly, in order to project the image onto the screen, you have to set the beamer to a height of 70cm, otherwise you have the image on the ceiling. I find that strange, I thought I could put the beamer on a stand. Thirdly, the image can only be reduced to a certain, small degree (with the lens). Surely it can't be that difficult to build something that also makes a smaller image than 2m?
Consequences: professional cabling, ceiling mount. Another thousand. But I think it's similar for all beamers?
