No tiny but many connection options and balanced sound.

At the beginning of the same connected via USB to my KVM switch, so that I can use the boxes with both notebook and game PC. Great disillusionment as then tinny sound from the two boxes boomed. I don't know if it was due to the installation (3h running) or if there was a driver / firmware renewal via Windows (?). Anyway, I am now very happy with the speakers. If the sound is too neutral, you can adjust it via the Windows properties "Bass Boost" or an equalizer. For bass lovers there is also a connection for a subwoofer (unfortunately there is no wireless sub from AudioEngine). The design is a bit too rough / clunky / boring for me. Had previously the Bose Musicmonitor. Soundwise a league higher than the small Bose, but also about 4x bigger. Sound changes fairly quickly when you move away from the speakers. Unfortunately, Bluetooth cannot be switched off. And since Bluetooth is always given priority, you can't help it if your neighbour suddenly connects via BT. The BT antenna allows very long ranges! Subjectively, USB delivers the best quality. Bluetooth is also good, but somehow it sounds like the music is a bit less room-filling. In any case, it is important to set the volume on the player to 100%, both for Windows and smartphones, and thus to control the volume exclusively via the speakers! The volume is not adjusted by the speakers with the playback device! A stereo cable with banana plugs is supplied to connect the two speakers. The plugs stick out far at the back, which forces a certain wall distance. But fortunately, plugless cables can be hooked up as well.

Sweet pair of speakers for your desk

These speakers offer decent power and great sound quality for the price. Punchy bass, clean highs, 24-bit DAC. What more could you want?
