    Poor quality(skontrolle)

I did not buy the headphones here due to the 2-3 week delivery time and direct availability from another retailer (sorry!), but still want to give my experience and recommendation.
My headphones had a noticeable overemphasis
in the bass range on the left. I had complained about this, after 6 weeks of "RMA absence" the headphones came back, supposedly cleaned and stating that no fault was found. Complained again, sent in again, after just over two weeks a replacement arrived, but now with overemphasis on the right. For studio purposes unusable. In addition, the unused and still packed spral cable had been replaced by a used, completely twisted spiral cable. The jack adapter was also missing. I had originally sent the headphones in the original packaging with all accessories including all packaging films. After that I erhlielt only scratched headphones back, without the foils. Personally, I advise against buying Audio Technica headphones - unless you can extensively test the model you buy for defects beforehand (play mono signal and full frequency spectrum with sine tone). I have many headphones and I have never experienced such problems with headphones during more than 30 years of music production. I was still skeptical because I wasn't particularly convinced by Audio Technica back in the 80s (we had AT microphones back then with sometimes considerable quality differences in the same model). Maybe Audio Technica can do better, but the Swiss service partner is a real mess. If you knew in Japan how the company image is sullied by a miserable service...
It may be that all this doesn't bother the carefree Spotify consumer. For serious studio work, the headphones are not to use, at least as far as I can judge this from the two headphones that I now had or have in my fingers. Apparently, this is a widespread problem with Audio Technica. The pure music listener, who does not work with the headphones, does not necessarily always notice this. However, when lead vocals or the kick drum are off-center, it can also be very distracting to the music lover. For me, the headphones CHF 279.- thrown in the trash. The problem is also widespread with the hype listener ATH-M50x (see Sonarworks). The one star may be harsh, but in a headphone plays now times the sound and tuning the main role. There's no turning a blind eye.
Thanks to digitec that critical reviews are also allowed and you can give a review without having bought the product here. That deserves 5 stars. Less great than digitec is the official Audio Technica service in Germany and the Swiss distributor. They don't respond to my eMail. Vogel-Strauss behavior, stick your head in the sand and wait until the annoying customer gives up. Audio Technica, that's it for me!

    Positive surprise

I use these headphones for editing and mixing. And was positively surprised.
