I have been using the monitor for a few months...

I've been using the monitor for a few months now, generally speaking; I haven't had any problems with it yet.

Picture quality is good for me, but I can also understand Photoshopians (colour fastness etc.).
    Personally,
I use the screen mainly for browsing, writing and gaming (mostly FPShooters, also RPGs, etc.) and it is quite sufficient. Of course, for 4K gaming you need extremely powerful graphics cards, but FullHD also works great (because it's native).
What I was a bit afraid of were pixel errors (more likely at 3840x2160 pixels), but I was pleasantly surprised when I turned it on for the first time. No dead, lame or whatever pixels.

    The problem with scaling:
Up to and with Windows 7, the OS doesn't support proper HiDPI monitors, which leaves weird scaling of the programs. From Windows 8 onwards, there was a massive improvement, with Windows 8.1 even complete support. Unfortunately, this does not mean that all programmes now look wonderful! Of course, this is up to the respective manufacturers, and sometimes they are not the fastest... For example, Spotify, Steam, Origin etc. still suffer from icons that are too low-resolution. Time will tell, but you have to be aware of that if you want to buy a 4K screen.

Important; via HDMI, the screen only works in 30Hz mode, which is simply not usable. Therefore, be sure to use the supplied (!) DisplayPort cable and manually (!) switch to DisplayPort 1.2 in the monitor settings. Then 4K and wonderful 60Hz will also work.
Why the supplied cable? I ordered a separate one, but it didn't work (when I switched to DP 1.2, the picture went black and reset itself).

    And finally, a warning;
    Once 4K, always 4K ;)

    • Processing
    • Panel (no pixel defects)
    • Very well individually adjustable
    • Size (4K on 28" gives a reasonable ppi value)
    • Working for longer periods is also pleasant

    Contra

    • none

At home for Games in action: especially Diab...

Used at home for games: mainly Diablo 3, StarCraft 2 and tentatively Far Cry 3, on a PC with a single GTX 780 SC running Win 8.1. For more, see my PQ321 Q review.

The native resolution without scaling is too small to use.
In Windows I use 50% scaling, in OS X 2560x1440 HiDPI resolution (the image is thereby calculated in double size, i.e. with 5120x2880, and output with 3840x2160), so that the OS/programs/etc have a comfortable size and remain well usable.

Because of the TN panel, the colours change if you don't sit right in front of it. This is noticeable when you go to the (already running) computer and sit down. Once you are sitting straight in front of the screen, it is hardly noticeable unless you move your seat up or down.
After calibration, the colours are OK. As long as colours are not critical/important for use (e.g. for professional image or video editing), this is probably not an obstacle, especially given the very attractive price.

The buttons on the back need getting used to, but at least they are more usable than the side buttons of the big brother PQ321 Q.

    Also in use:
    - DELL UP2414Q 24": better colours thanks to IPS panel (higher colour space, I think even with wide-Gamut? and stable colours from different viewing angles). Its 24" offers 100% scaling or 1920x1080 HiDPI resolution, which is naturally sharper, but offers less space.
    - ASUS PQ321 Q 31.5": more accurate and stable colours thanks to IPS panel. Even larger screen area would allow scaling a little less and thus using a higher (virtual) resolution, or having everything displayed a little larger with the same scaling, or placing the screen a little further away for more relaxed focusing.

    Pro

    • UHD resolution! Dream of a Retina Display in large came true :)
    • Large screen
    • Price

    Contra

    • Only one Displayport input (60 Hz at full resolution is only possible with this)
    • You never want smaller resolution than UHD ;)

The screen is great! With Windows 8(.1), the resolution is also fun, under Windows 7, many applications have problems with the scaling and the OS can't really iron that out. Unfortunately, my device is a DoA (crackling of the screen with image distortions that occur regularly), but will be replaced by ASUS without any problems (as soon as a device is available again).
Tomb Raider and Titan Fall look great on 4k and run smoothly with a 780 GTX. DisplayPort cable was included with the monitor.

Tip: Always use a DP cable and set it to DP 1.2. 30HZ are not really usable. 60Hz is not supported via HDMI!

1 star deduction because of the menu control and the DoA (can happen). I can't find the buttons straight away because they are labelled on the front but are behind the monitor.
