This cable allows you to take the line-out signal from your iPhone so that you get a superior sound compared to the amplified output. I think this is a better solution than using the simple adapter plug from Apple because this cable based version puts less strain on the iPhone Lightning socket. To the 30-pin output on the end of the cable I connected a 30-pin SendStation PocketDock adapter with USB2 and mini-plug output sockets. This allowed me to connect my headphone amplifier. Now I have better sound quality from my iPhone 8. This is a good upgrade for audiophiles at a very reasonable price.
