Certain reviews here are very questionable. "Nothing new since iPhone XY", "Poor workmanship", "Accessories overpriced" (of course, one rates the accessories and not the product itself).
The iPhone 8 is, as one is used to from Apple, excellently manufactured. Whether the glass design appeals to you or not is subjective. But the device feels very stable and less slippery than the iPhone 7. In terms of feel, it's comparable to an LG G6, only lighter.
One could argue that this thing is actually an iPhone 7S. That's probably why Apple only allowed us a few innovations. However, these are great.
4k videos with 60fps or 1080p videos with 240fps... You won't find that anywhere else!
Wireless charging is also new... at least in the iPhone world. at least in the iPhone world ;-)
The stereo speakers have been noticeably, if only slightly, improved. They sound louder and above all clearer than on the iPhone 7.
The story with the fast charging is a more than questionable action. Together with the lack of a jack, which is still sorely missed, this is a one-star deduction in "features".
The included Earbuds, the Lightning - 3.5mm adapter and the charging cable are again of excellent quality, as is typical for Apple. They always last me 2-3 years.
iOS is fast, fluid and reliable. You miss certain things (customising the home screen, widgets, etc.) from Android. But you can always rely on iOS, which I personally missed with Android (5 devices within 1.5 years) and all were unusable after 2 months "out-of-the-box use" at the latest).
Price-wise, the device is in good company. Still far too much money for a smartphone (in my opinion), but that's the way it is nowadays.

Apple..., as usual. Well thought out and without any major quirks.
