purchased this productworks but mixed experience.
My experience with this product is mixed.
First of all, my purchase from Digitec was a bit disappointing: the product could not be activated because it was already activated. So someone used this product. The technical support of 3D systems quickly sent me the corresponding activation code, but this leaves an unpleasant impression.
The device itself is quite compact, but the USB cable could be longer. When scanning a person you have to be careful not to drop your computer. A wireless version would be nice.
The scanner is not very easy to use as the subject has to be really still (not easy with pets or children) and you have to move slowly around the object or person at a fairly regular distance.
The software works on Mac and PC, which is a plus.Pro
- Software works on Mac and PC
- compact
Contra
- USB cord too short for my taste
- implementation requires some learning (speed of movement, distance to the object)

purchased this productWith a little practice and the right settings, a good device
I can only agree with the previous writer: The activation did not work, but because I bought an exhibition object, it is understandable. However, 3D Systems responded very quickly.
The performance of the software for Mac is poor. The scanner is very light, so one has to concentrate very much on a calm guidance.
After about 2 hours of testing, I was able to achieve good results. Export as OBJ has to be done manually. The scanner is technically quite good. What I miss are "best case" instructions.
I recommend using it with a laptop. The easiest way is to build a device that connects laptop and scanner. This way you have more weight and the possibility of a better guidance of the scanner.Pro
- Precise for objects around 1m in size
Contra
- Software
- Handling on desktop computer nonsensical
