Is it certain that this part works with the Xbox One? The connection is supposed to work via a controller plugged into the wheel via USB (switched off?!?)...

Yes, it works perfectly. It has even been optimised for Xbox One. The controller must have batteries inserted. It does not run actively, but in a kind of passive mode. This means that the controller consumes a minimal amount of energy.
