Is this squeaking that many report really a problem? And did I understand correctly that I can only return this product unopened, as it goes under "hygiene products"?

Helpful answer

According to reviews on the Internet, the beeping only occurs with the NC. A return is generally not possible if the original packaging has been opened, but this does not apply to a warranty case, if one exists.
