My grandma hears very badly and needs headphones with a 3.5mm connection. The new Samsung QE43Q60T TV, like all new TVs, has no analogue headphone jack. Question 1: Can the Nowsonic analogue audio amplifier from Ampix remedy this? Mri it is important that enough volume comes out of the headphones. Question 2: Is the TV sound automatically switched off when the headphones are in use? Question 3: which connections (optical or via the cinch red/white) would you recommend? 1. the unit amplifies the signal. Yes
2. this depends on the TV set and not on the additional amplifier. Since the TV does not have a headphone output, this is unlikely to be the case. Turning down the volume could possibly also affect the audio output. Check the manual for your TV set. 3.
If you use the optical output, you will have to connect a D/A converter in between.
