I have put the iPad Pro 12.9" 2017 in a case. Can I place the iPad including the case on the charging station to charge it, or do I have to remove the case, which would be very tedious?

The iPad is charged via the contacts on the side, and the iPad rests on the bottom (see picture 4). Alternatively, the charging cable can of course also be plugged directly into the iPad, but this no longer justifies the purpose of the Doking...
