Is it possible to connect this screen to the Surface Book via the Surface Dock? Does it matter which version of the Surface Book I have?

The screen and the docking station have a display port connection. This means that it is basically possible to connect them. (with a display port to mini display port cable or adapter, available from Digitec: e.g. art. no. 2584203).
I have not explicitly tested this combination, but we also use the Surface docking station in this way in the office.
Note that the Surface has difficulties

I already have a BenQ XL2730Z (with GTX1070) but would like another WQHD monitor for lower FPS games and work. Is a 1070 enough for that? Does anyone already have experience with it?

Hi Adrian,
I'm using the LG 34UM94C-P with a much older Radeon (I think the R7 370, but I'll look again tonight at home) and play the new Doom smoothly on medium settings. So it should be even better for low FPS games :)

I have Thunderbolt ports on my MacBook Air (early 2014). This monitor also has Thunderbolt. Is this monitor compatible with my Air and is the picture quality good?

Your MacBook Air (Early 2014) only supports external displays up to a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The monitor can be used with your laptop, but not at full resolution, which may result in a lower quality image than what the monitor is designed to display.
