I myself have a Color Laserjet CP4525 that spins very loudly in idle mode for about 20 minutes until it goes into sleep mode. This cannot be controlled via the driver. What is the situation with the M577?

The printer goes into standby mode after about 1 minute, i.e. the screen goes dark and the printer is absolutely quiet. Waking up from this state is very quick.

I would love to see and hear (!) this printer in live use and make some test prints, but that seems an impossible task. Who can help?

Ok, according to HP, A3 format scanning is not possible.
