Do you have a recommendation for a printer? It should have a 500-sheet tray, colour laser and duplex printing and scanning capabilities.

This one has a great price/performance ratio, so I would take into account that it "only" holds 250 sheets.
Otherwise this one: OKI MC363dn + additional tray order optional is also a base cabinet available (would then have an automatic paper feeder for scanning / copying).

Does the printer feed the sheets automatically when duplex printing or do you have to refeed the sheets yourself to print the reverse sides? The product description says that the printer does not have ADF. Maybe I'm confusing ADF with something else. Thank you!

ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) actually refers to the scanner that is installed above the flatbed scanner on such devices (see model Brother DCP-9020CDW). This printer can print in automatic duplex, i.e. without "manually reinserting paper". In short: Yes, it refeeds the sheets automatically.

So when I order the printer I have one toner each and pay 199.-, but when I need new toners I pay 99.- per colour and 69.- for the black = 465.-. Accordingly, I buy two printers and still have some left over, but do nothing for the environment. Can someone explain this to me?

The toners in the new device are not fully filled, completely "normal" printer manufacturer behaviour...
