The ELITE S340 is the new noble Midi-Tower from NZXT. This case, 90 percent of which is made of steel, has exceptionally sharp edges, yet its exterior is very smooth, minimalist and geometrically shaped. Thanks to its matt white surface, the small cuboid is raised above all masses in terms of design. In addition, the left side houses a tempered glass window that reveals the white interior of the ELITE S340. The external appearance is completed by the black feet of the housing.
NZXT ELITE S340 Midi-Tower: with front HDMI fit for the VR!
The front of this housing is completely flat and without I/O panel. The latter is located on the lid of the small housing dream. The panel has two USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports and two audio sockets as well as the unobtrusive power button. There is also a small storage space for cables and the like.
As a special feature, the NZXT ELITE S340 has an HDMI connection in the front panel, which can be used to connect VR glasses quickly and conveniently! At the back of the tower is a cable gland to route an HDMI cable from the graphics card to the internal connector. A practical holder for VR glasses or headsets is included in the Midi-Tower. The magnetic holder can be attached to the front or right side panel and is padded.
There is a lot of space available in the white interior. In addition to ATX, Micro ATX and Mini-ITX mainboards, seven expansion cards can also be installed in the housing. Three 3.5-inch drives can also be installed in the drive cage. There are also two 2.5" slots on the front panel that disconnect the power supply from the mainboard.
The front and the bottom are conveniently designed to be isolated from the mainboard and the rest of the interior. This provides space in the interior and makes it particularly suitable for placing cables there that you should not see from the outside. Instead, CPU coolers with illuminated fans or LED strips, for example, can be integrated there, which then show off to their best advantage through the large window.
In addition, the housing offers several ways to keep it cool. For example, there is a pre-installed 120 mm fan in the rear and in the cover. Furthermore, two 120 or two 140 can be installed in the front.
Practically, a dust filter is already fitted in the front, which can be easily removed and cleaned. Instead of the pre-installed fan, a 140 mm fan can also be installed in the cover.
CPU coolers can be installed in the S340 with a height of up to 161 mm. Thin radiators can also be installed in the housing. If you do without the fans in the front, you have space up to 58 mm in width to install a 240 or even 280 radiator upright. If you remove the cable management rail, you even have approx. 120 mm space. It is possible to install a 120 mm radiator with a width of approx. 75 mm at the rear, provided the fan is removed there.…more
