Description

Outstanding in low light. With sensitivity settings from ISO 100 to ISO 51,200:
The fast image processing engine EXPEED 5 ensures remarkable image quality over the entire ISO range. Even the finest noise is significantly reduced. Even at high ISO sensitivity, detail enlargements do not lose quality. The "Hi 5" setting corresponds to the incredible ISO value of 1,640,000 and makes the most of the available residual light.

Precisely exposed images and dynamic image compositions:
The camera is equipped with an RGB exposure sensor with approx. 180,000 pixels and the "Advanced Scene Recognition System" function so that images can be taken even when the subjects are small or moving quickly. For high-contrast subjects, light-emphasized exposure metering prioritizes the brightest areas in the image area to avoid images with eroded highlights.

The 51-point AF system follows each subject:
The AF system contains 15 centrally arranged cross sensors and also works impressively precise up to -3 LW. This allows you to take razor-sharp pictures at night without additional light. Target group control provides improved subject detection and focus tracking when capturing relatively small subjects close to a high-contrast or distracting background.

Open up a new dimension of filming:
Impressive videos in 4K/UHD 30p or Full HD (1080p) with frame rates up to 50p/60p. The camera allows uncompressed HDMI output, which can even be sent simultaneously to an external device and the camera's SD memory card. You can optimize videos for smart devices by recording in MP4 or AAC format. Nikon's electronic image stabilizer significantly minimizes the effects of camera shake when shooting free-hand Full HD movies.

For the ultimate recording - even if it is hidden in a vortex of movement:
Never miss a decisive moment again. You can record up to 50 images (lossless compressed 14-bit RAW) at a frame rate of approximately 8 frames/sec. Or take up to 100 JPEG images with the "Fine" quality level and the "L" image size in just one quick series of shots. The comprehensive focus tracking and exposure adjustment during continuous shooting prevents quality losses despite the high speed.

Touch the flat, tiltable touch screen monitor to focus:
The 8 cm (3.2") tiltable monitor allows you to control autofocus and shutter release with the touch controls when shooting in Live View. And the easy-to-reach dial and multi-function dial make it easy to change camera settings when shooting.

Share the thrill. SnapBridge:
SnapBridge from Nikon permanently connects the D7500 to a smart device via Bluetooth® Low Energy. The camera synchronizes photos with the smart device when you take pictures. A new connection establishment is not necessary. You can transfer movies at any time using the camera's built-in Wi-Fi feature. The SnapBridge connection also allows you to remotely control the camera with a smart device.

Image sensor type

An image sensor is a device that converts an optical image to an electric signal. It is used mostly in digital cameras and other imaging devices. An image sensor is typically a charge-coupled device (CCD) or a complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) active-pixel sensor.

CMOS

Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) is a term for semiconductor devices that use both p-channel and n-channel MOSFETs on a common substrate. CMOS technology refers to both the semiconductor process used to realize integrated digital and analog circuits and a logic family. CMOS technology is the most widely used logic family today and is mainly used for integrated circuits.

APS-C / DX

The DX format is a sensor format of Nikon digital SLR cameras.
The DX format was introduced in 1999 with the Nikon D1. At about 23.7 mm × 15.6 mm, it is smaller than the 35 mm format and also differs from the formats previously used for digital SLR cameras. It is also often referred to somewhat imprecisely as APS-C format.

ISO light sensitivity (auto)

The American Standards Association (ASA) and the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) film speed standards have been combined into the ISO standards. The current International Standard for measuring the speed of color negative film is ISO 5800:1987 from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Related standards ISO 6:1993 and ISO 2240:2003 define scales for speeds of black-and-white negative film and color reversal film. This system defines both an arithmetic and a logarithmic scale, combining the previously separate ASA and DIN systems.
Commonly, the logarithmic speed is omitted; for example, "ISO 100" denotes ISO 100/21°.

ISO light sensitivity (manual)
i

ISO light sensitivity (manual)

The ISO 5800 standard defines the light sensitivity of film material.
For both scales: the higher the number, the more light-sensitive the film. For linear ASA scaling, a double value corresponds to twice the sensitivity. In the logarithmic DIN scale, an increase of 3° corresponds to a doubling.
In photography, doubling the light sensitivity of the film material means that under given lighting conditions the exposure time can be halved to avoid camera shake or the lens can be closed one f-stop further to achieve a greater depth of field.

i

Lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.

Phase-based
i

Phase-based

The older passive method is phase comparison, a method that is more complex and also requires an additional sensor, but in principle requires less computing power and can also determine the focusing direction with the first measurement.
The method is derived from the purely optical split image indicator, an aid that was already used as an accessory in the purely mechanical cameras of the 1960s. In the center of the focusing screen, which was viewed through the viewfinder, two unmatted halves of the circle were attached so that two fields moved towards each other during manual focusing until they finally fitted exactly together during focusing. When the first phototransistors and microchips were available, it was only a matter of time before two sensor lines were constructed from them, which could judge the position of the two fields at vertical edges.

Image file formats

Image file formats are standardized means of organizing and storing digital images. Image files are composed of either pixel or vector (geometric) data that are rasterized to pixels when displayed (with few exceptions) in a vector graphic display. The pixels that constitute an image are ordered as a grid (columns and rows); each pixel consists of numbers representing magnitudes of brightness and color.

JPEG

In computing, JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital photography (image). The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality.

JPEG compression is used in a number of image file formats. JPEG/Exif is the most common image format used by digital cameras and other photographic image capture devices; along with JPEG/JFIF, it is the most common format for storing and transmitting photographic images on the World Wide Web. These format variations are often not distinguished, and are simply called JPEG.

Battery-operated

A rechargeable battery or storage battery is a group of one or more electrochemical cells. They are known as secondary cells because their electrochemical reactions are electrically reversible. Rechargeable batteries come in many different shapes and sizes, ranging anything from a button cell to megawatt systems connected to stabilize an electrical distribution network. Several different combinations of chemicals are commonly used, including: lead-acid, nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), lithium ion (Li-ion), and lithium ion polymer (Li-ion polymer).

Rechargeable batteries have lower total cost of use and environmental impact than disposable batteries. Some rechargeable battery types are available in the same sizes as disposable types. Rechargeable batteries have higher initial cost, but can be recharged very cheaply and used many times.

Kauftipp Bildqualitäts-Tipp

Questions about this product

The 3 most helpful customer questions

User roman2710

D7500 Body (21.51MP, 8FPS, Wi-Fi)
