Information subject to change.
Experience twice as much performance as before with the new Surface Book generation - for up to 17 hours on one battery charge. The Surface Book 2 is a versatile notebook, powerful tablet and portable studio in one. It can be used as a detachable notebook with or without a keyboard. Thus it becomes a quick-change artist who adapts to the situation. Its robust lightweight magnesium chassis conceals hardware whose performance outshines many a desktop PC. The Core i5 processor of the seventh generation, 8 GB RAM and the integrated graphics solution are not overwhelmed by even the most demanding graphics and multimedia applications. The necessary storage space is provided by a lightning-fast PCIe solid state drive with 256 GB capacity. Security also meets professional requirements: With a TPM 2.0 chip and biometric face recognition authentication using Windows Hello, you can keep your confidential data safe. The Surface Book 2 has a "PixelSense" touch display with a resolution of 3000 x 2000 pixels. So you can enjoy your content in the finest details. The touch function is so precise that the Surface Book 2 can also be used as a graphics tablet. With separately available accessories such as the Surface Pen and the Surface Dial, professional graphic artists and image editing enthusiasts will find the perfect tool. Use the Surface Book 2 with the docking keyboard as a productive notebook. Remove the screen at the touch of a button, turn it and attach it backwards for presentation mode - ideal for sharing content or enjoying your favorite show. Alternatively, remove the keyboard completely and use the Surface Book 2 as a thin, lightweight tablet. Or leave the keyboard on, but turn it all the way back to use Surface Book 2 in slightly upright studio mode. This is perfect for precise operation of the touch display in graphics applications. The Surface Book 2 uses the entire range of modern interfaces: The WLAN module allows connection to local networks and hotspots and, thanks to the 802.11ac standard, is almost three times faster than the n standard. Three USB 3.0 ports, two in full size (type A) and one in the new type C form factor, are waiting for your peripherals and storage media. For example, you can use the Full-Size SD card reader to import images from digital cameras. With a 5-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera, video conferences, spontaneous snapshots and detailed image documentation are possible at any time.…more

Portable
i

GermanGerman is a West Germanic language, thus related to and classified alongside English and Dutch. It is one of the world's major languages and the most widely spoken first language in the European Union. Globally, German is spoken by approximately 120 million native speakers and also by about 80 million non-native speakers. Standard German is widely taught in schools, universities and Goethe Institutes worldwide.
French
,
i
FrenchFrench (français, IPA: [fʁɑ̃sɛ]) is a Romance language spoken as a first language by around 136 million people worldwide.[1][4] A total of 250 million speak it as either a first or as a second language. Moreover, roughly 110 million people learn French as a second or third language. French speaking communities are present in 57 countries and territories. Most native speakers of the language live in France, the rest live essentially in Canada, particularly Quebec, New Brunswick and Ontario, as well as Belgium, Algeria, Switzerland, Monaco, Luxembourg, and certain places in the U.S. states of Maine and Louisiana. Most second-language speakers of French live in Francophone Africa, arguably exceeding the number of native speakers.
Italian
,
i
Italian
Italian ( italiano (help·info), or lingua italiana) is a Romance language spoken as a native language by about 70 million people in Italy, Malta, San Marino and parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and France. In addition, it is spoken by an additional 120 to 150 million people as a non-native language. Most native speakers are native bilinguals of both standardised Italian and regional varieties.
English
i
EnglishEnglish is a West Germanic language that arose in the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of England and spread into what was to become south-east Scotland under the influence of the Anglian medieval kingdom of Northumbria. Following the economic, political, military, scientific, cultural, and colonial influence of Great Britain and the United Kingdom from the 18th century, via the British Empire, and of the United States since the mid-20th century, it has been widely dispersed around the world, become the leading language of international discourse, and has acquired use as lingua franca in many regions. It is widely learned as a second language and used as an official language of the European Union and many Commonwealth countries, as well as in many world organizations. It is the third most natively spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. |

Processor
i
ProcessorA processor is a key component of a computing device, which steers other components via software. The fundamental property of a processor is its programmability. The behaviour of a processor is determined by programmers by means of computer code. The main processor components are the register, arithmetic and logic unit (ALU), control unit and the memory management unit (MMU), which administers memory. Central tasks of a processor include arithmetic operations, reading and writing data in the memory as well as executing programme jumps. |

i
Processor clock frequency
In electronics and especially synchronous digital circuits, a clock signal is a particular type of signal that oscillates between a high and a low state and is utilized like a metronome to coordinate actions of circuits. Although the word signal has a number of other meanings, the term is here used for "transmitted energy that can carry information". |

Max. TDP
i
Max. TDPThe thermal design power (TDP), sometimes called thermal design point, refers to the maximum amount of power the cooling system in a computer is required to dissipate. For example, a laptop's CPU cooling system may be designed for a 20 watt TDP, which means that it can dissipate up to 20 watts of heat without exceeding the maximum junction temperature for the computer chip. It can do this using an active cooling method such as a fan or any of the three passive cooling methods, convection, thermal radiation or conduction. Typically, a combination of methods is used. The TDP is typically not the most power the chip could ever draw, such as by a power virus, but rather the maximum power that it would draw when running "real applications". This ensures the computer will be able to handle essentially all applications without exceeding its thermal envelope, or requiring a cooling system for the maximum theoretical power (which would cost more but in favor of extra headroom for processing power). |

Number of processor cores
i
Number of processor coresA multi-core processor (or chip-level multiprocessor, CMP) combines two or more independent cores (normally a CPU) into a single package composed of a single integrated circuit (IC), called a die, or more dies packaged together. A dual-core processor contains two cores, and a quad-core processor contains four cores. |

Number of threads
i
Number of threadsIn computer science, a thread of execution is the smallest unit of processing that can be scheduled by an operating system. The implementation of threads and processes differs from one operating system to another, but in most cases, a thread is contained inside a process. Multiple threads can exist within the same process and share resources such as memory, while different processes do not share these resources. In particular, the threads of a process share the latter's instructions (its code) and its context (the values that its variables reference at any given moment). To give an analogy, multiple threads in a process are like multiple cooks reading off the same cook book and following its instructions, not necessarily from the same page. |

Aspect ratio
i
Aspect ratioThe aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of the width of the image to its height, expressed as two numbers separated by a colon. That is, for an x:y aspect ratio, no matter how big or small the image is, if the width is divided into x units of equal length and the height is measured using this same length unit, the height will be measured to be y units. Aspect ratios are mathematically expressed as x:y. |

Touchscreen
i
TouchscreenA touchscreen is a display which can detect the presence and location of a touch within the display area. The term generally refers to touch or contact to the display of the device by a finger or hand. Touchscreens can also sense other passive objects, such as a stylus. However, if the object sensed is active, as with a light pen, the term touchscreen is generally not applicable. The ability to interact directly with a display typically indicates the presence of a touchscreen. |

Display size
i
Display sizeThe size of a display is typically given as the distance between two opposite screen corners. One problem with this method is that it does not distinguish between the aspect ratios of monitors with identical diagonal sizes, in spite of the fact that a shape of a given diagonal span's area decreases as it becomes less square. For example, a 4:3 21" monitor has an area of ~211 square inches, while a 16:9 21" widescreen has an area of only ~188 square inches. |
