würde ich nicht wieder kaufen

Habe die Karte gekauft um ein Raid 1+0 auf einem HomeServer für ESXi zu installieren. Einrichtung soweit ok im Menü, hat alles funktioniert, allerdings lief der Server etwa 1-2 Wochen bevor ich ihn neu starten musste. Neustart wurde notwendig aufgrund mangelnder Performance auf den Platten. Da hatte ich die Karte schon im Verdacht.
Wie sich gezeigt hat, lag es auch daran, die Karte muss extrem gekühlt werden, andernfalls wird sie so heiss, dass ein Neustart erst nach 15min. Abkühlung möglich wurde. Also, wer diese Karte kauft, sollte in einem normalen Case, mit normaler Belüftung noch zusätzliche Lüfter installieren, welche am Besten direkt auf dne Kühlkörper blasen. Dann ging es eine Weile ganz gut. Jetzt im Sommer aber wieder derart Performanceeinbrüche, dass ich mich davon getrennt habe, Folge ist eine komplette Neuinstallation aller VM's :-(

Funktioniert einwandfrei unter verschiedenen Linux...

Funktioniert einwandfrei unter verschiedenen Linux Distros. Ein Problem hat der Adapter allerdings: Dieser Adapter ist kein vollwertiges Raid-On-Chip System. Onbaord RAID auf modernen MB ist ungefähr gleichwertig. Musste die bittere Erfahrung machen, als ich versucht habe die Karte unter ESX zum laufen zu kriegen. Der LSI-Support war allerdings so freundlich mir zu erklären wo das Problem liegt.more

Bisher bin ich nur mässig begeistert von diesem Ad...

Bisher bin ich nur mässig begeistert von diesem Adapter. Ich habe ihn eingebaut in einem HP MicroServer N40L. Installiert ist Windows Server 2012 Essentials. Die Installation klappt zunächst problemlos. Wenn man dann nach einiger Zeit auf die Idee kommt, bei LSI den aktuellen Treiber für die KArte zu holen und zu installieren dann ist die Freude vorbei: Der Server crasht nach den Neustart so heftig, dass neu installiert werden muss. Der LSI Support ist bisher mässig hilfsbereit.more
