Lenovo ThinkPad P70 (17.30", UHD, Intel Core i7-6820HQ, 16GB, SSD)

Description

The Lenovo ThinkPad P70 is a mobile workstation that delivers superior performance and maximum reliability wherever you need it. Whether you're designing complex CAD models, creating digital content on a film set, or analyzing production processes at the production site, the workstation's sixth-generation Intel Quad Core processor, 16GB of memory, and the NVIDIA Quadro M3000M will limit your productivity.

The workstation is designed for professionals who demand reliability and performance. It is also ISV-certified to ensure compatibility and freedom from conflicts in demanding work. It has also been tested for resistance to various situations in accordance with military standards. It works with the Flex Performance cooling system, which ensures effective, quiet and fast operation.

The NVIDIA Quadro M3000M delivers the power you need to build your graphics solutions in the field. It is based on the Maxwell architecture and offers 4 GB of GDDR5 graphics memory. Certified drivers specially optimized for professional applications such as CAD or DCC significantly increase stability and performance compared to consumer graphics cards. The NVIDIA Quadro M4000M is designed for use in large notebooks with 17" or larger displays.

Intel Xeon Processor

The Intel Xeon processor belongs to the Skylake family (processor of the sixth generation) and combines the high performance of the fourth generation with the economical 14 nm architecture of the fifth generation. It is optimized to use the faster DDR4 memory and other PCIe 3.0 lanes. Turbo boost technology accelerates demanding applications and dynamically adapts performance to your needs, giving you more power or less power depending on your needs.

Richness of detail and colour fidelity

The 17.3" display with its UHD/4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels provides an extremely fine, detailed image reproduction. The ThinkPad also scores when it comes to colour fidelity: As a special highlight, an X-Rite Pantone colorimeter was installed with which the display can be calibrated. This ensures that the colours are reproduced precisely over the entire life of the product. This makes the workstation ideal for color-sensitive applications such as professional image processing.

German is a West Germanic language, thus related to and classified alongside English and Dutch. It is one of the world's major languages and the most widely spoken first language in the European Union. Globally, German is spoken by approximately 120 million native speakers and also by about 80 million non-native speakers. Standard German is widely taught in schools, universities and Goethe Institutes worldwide.

French (français, IPA: [fʁɑ̃sɛ]) is a Romance language spoken as a first language by around 136 million people worldwide.[1][4] A total of 250 million speak it as either a first or as a second language. Moreover, roughly 110 million people learn French as a second or third language. French speaking communities are present in 57 countries and territories. Most native speakers of the language live in France, the rest live essentially in Canada, particularly Quebec, New Brunswick and Ontario, as well as Belgium, Algeria, Switzerland, Monaco, Luxembourg, and certain places in the U.S. states of Maine and Louisiana. Most second-language speakers of French live in Francophone Africa, arguably exceeding the number of native speakers.

Italian ( italiano (help·info), or lingua italiana) is a Romance language spoken as a native language by about 70 million people in Italy, Malta, San Marino and parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and France. In addition, it is spoken by an additional 120 to 150 million people as a non-native language. Most native speakers are native bilinguals of both standardised Italian and regional varieties.
In Switzerland, Italian is one of four official languages, spoken mainly in the Swiss cantons of Grigioni and Ticino.

English

English is a West Germanic language that arose in the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of England and spread into what was to become south-east Scotland under the influence of the Anglian medieval kingdom of Northumbria. Following the economic, political, military, scientific, cultural, and colonial influence of Great Britain and the United Kingdom from the 18th century, via the British Empire, and of the United States since the mid-20th century, it has been widely dispersed around the world, become the leading language of international discourse, and has acquired use as lingua franca in many regions. It is widely learned as a second language and used as an official language of the European Union and many Commonwealth countries, as well as in many world organizations. It is the third most natively spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

Max. TDP

The thermal design power (TDP), sometimes called thermal design point, refers to the maximum amount of power the cooling system in a computer is required to dissipate. For example, a laptop's CPU cooling system may be designed for a 20 watt TDP, which means that it can dissipate up to 20 watts of heat without exceeding the maximum junction temperature for the computer chip. It can do this using an active cooling method such as a fan or any of the three passive cooling methods, convection, thermal radiation or conduction. Typically, a combination of methods is used. The TDP is typically not the most power the chip could ever draw, such as by a power virus, but rather the maximum power that it would draw when running "real applications". This ensures the computer will be able to handle essentially all applications without exceeding its thermal envelope, or requiring a cooling system for the maximum theoretical power (which would cost more but in favor of extra headroom for processing power).

Graphics card properties

A video card, video adapter, graphics accelerator card, display adapter, or graphics card is an expansion card which generates output images to a display. Most video cards offer added functions, such as accelerated rendering of 3D scenes and 2D graphics, video capture, TV-tuner adapter, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 decoding, FireWire, light pen, TV output, or the ability to connect multiple monitors (multi-monitor). Other modern high performance video cards are used for more graphically demanding purposes, such as PC games.

Which laptop should you buy?

When your old laptop gives up the ghost, there’s nothing for it but to buy a new one. Unfortunately, this is more complicated than it was five years ago. To help you navigate the laptop jungle, I’ve put together a buying guide by looking at my old laptops and putting the latest devices under the microscope.

ThinkPad P70 (17.30", UHD, Intel Core i7-6820HQ, 16GB, SSD)

Eine sehr gutes 17" Arbeitsnotebook

Sehr gute Notebook-Arbeitesstation. Windows 7 ist mit der 4K-Auflösung leider überfordert. Das Gerät musste zügig auf Window10 umgerüstet werden. Das ist leider etwas Zeitraubend. Jetzt läuft alles sehr gut.
