Damit darf sich diese SSD ohne Zweifel zu den schnellsten Alternativen zählen die der Markt aktuell zu bieten hat. Sowohl beim Lesen als auch beim Schreiben ist das Tempo hoch, auch die Zugriffszeiten sind sehr gering. Schade dass keine Software mitgeliefert wird, umso kritischer darf der doch sehr hohe Preis gewertet werden. I've been trying various high performance M.2 SSDs and while newer models always improve in synthetic performance measurements, the day-to-day snappiness did't really change.
Not so with the 900p, it's immediately obvious that everything loads much faster compared to my previous Samsung M.2 SSD. Moving data sets with lots of small files (e.g. source code) is vastly improved too.
It is also important to install it in a PCI-E 3.0 x4 slot connected to the CPU and not the chipset as the main feature of the 900p is low latency which would be sub-optimal if shared with other devices. X99, X299, X399 platforms are the best options.…more

Es ist klar dass man ein schnelles solid-state Gerät mit 280 GB Kapazität für ziemlich viel weniger Geld kaufen kann. Es ist auch klar dass wenn es einem nur um sequentielle Geschwindigkeit geht, es auch für weniger Geld geht.
Aber, und das ist der Punkt hier, wenn man ein gerat brauch das eine tiefe Latenzzeit hat für queue-depth 1 anwendungen, dann gibt es für CHF 369 kein besseres Gerät auf dem Markt - nicht mal ansatzweise.
Ich selber benutze das 900p als ZFS SLOG Gerät; mehr oder weniger als Journal / "synchronous write cache" für mein ZFS Speicherpool. Da geht es um vielen kleinen sychrone Schreibaktionen, und der Throughput wird da pur beschränkt durch die QD1-Latenzzeit. Eben das macht diese Gerät auserordentlich gut.
Die leistungsaufnahme liegt zwischen 4 und 12 W, je nach Benutzung, was zwar für ein "First Generation" Produkt nicht schlecht ist, für ein solid-state Gerät aber ziemlich hoch.…more
