G-10 Pendant Pendant Light by Gubi

The Gubi G10 pendant light, designed by Swedish-American architect and furniture designer Greta M. Grossman, combines organic lines with minimalism. The light is named after being the tenth model that Grossman designed for the Swedish manufacturer Bergboms. The updated version of the light impresses with its contrast: a black shade with a matte finish on the outside that embraces the glossy white interior.

The G-10 light was designed by Greta Magnusson Grossman in the early 1950s and reissued by Gubi in 2015. She received her first award for furniture design in Sweden in the 1930s. Grossman's design of a nativity scene for Swedish Princess Birgitta garnered much attention. In the 1940s, she emigrated to the USA with her husband, musician Billy Grossman, and began her career in Los Angeles with a shop in Beverly Hills. Famous clients such as Greta Garbo and Joan Fontaine were among her clientele. Greta Grossman continued to design extensive furniture and lighting and was also active as an architect in the 1950s.
