Description

The FUJIFILM GFX 50S offers highest image quality. The resolution of 51.4 megapixels, the impressive tonal reproduction, the unique FUJIFILM colours and extremely powerful lenses - the level of this camera is pure inspiration. From the moment you hold the GFX 50S in your hands, your view of the world changes. Experience the potential of the new medium format camera system from FUJIFILM.

See more of the world:

Image quality has always been FUJIFILM's top priority. This applies in particular to medium format. The brand has established itself on the market with its mirrorless system cameras. Now it is continuing its success story with the GFX 50S. The medium format camera combines FUJIFILM's legacy from analogue photography with trend-setting digital technology. It is the new benchmark of photographic quality. The GFX 50S marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of camera construction.

FUJIFILM G format:

The GFX 50S has a 43.8 × 32.9 mm medium format CMOS sensor with 51.4 million pixels. He combines FUJIFILM's decades of experience and expertise in the field of medium format photography with state-of-the-art digital technology. In combination with an extremely powerful GF lens, the result is tonal reproduction and image resolution that will leave a lasting impression even on internationally active photographers from the fields of advertising, fashion and landscape.

Optimized sensor design:

The design of the microlenses and signal processing have been optimized to provide maximum sharpness and wide dynamic range. The low basic sensitivity of ISO 100 and the high dynamic range of 14 f-stops (14-bit RAW) allow extremely detailed images with natural skin tones and a differentiated green tone reproduction.

FUJIFILM X Processor Pro:

The image processor of the GFX 50S is optimally adjusted to process the large data volumes of the 51.4 megapixel sensor. This not only allows a high working speed, but also contributes to the camera's remarkable performance.
FUJIFILM's film simulations, the internal RAW conversion to 8-bit TIFF, the precise contrast autofocus, the
short switch-on time, very fast shutter speed and fast frame rate are only possible with the X-Processor.

Fujifilm G bayonet:

The G bayonet of the GFX 50S has a diameter of 65 mm, a back focal distance of 26.7 mm and a minimum cutting distance of 16.7 mm. The bayonet has twelve electronic contacts and supports the
Connection of different lenses and other accessories. The short cutting distance is made possible by the mirrorless camera design.
It favours the development of bright, compact GF lenses with impressive imaging properties, such as minimal vignetting and consistently high resolution across the entire image area.

Splash and dust protected, resistant to cold down to minus 10 degrees Celsius:

Despite its large sensor, the GFX 50S is compact and lightweight. The camera body is made of a robust magnesium alloy. It is weatherproofed at 58 points and therefore insensitive to dust and moisture. The camera is predestined for use in the studio and outdoors in nature

Image sensor type

An image sensor is a device that converts an optical image to an electric signal. It is used mostly in digital cameras and other imaging devices. An image sensor is typically a charge-coupled device (CCD) or a complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) active-pixel sensor.

More information...

CMOS
i

CMOS

Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) is a term for semiconductor devices that use both p-channel and n-channel MOSFETs on a common substrate. CMOS technology refers to both the semiconductor process used to realize integrated digital and analog circuits and a logic family. CMOS technology is the most widely used logic family today and is mainly used for integrated circuits.

Medium format
i

Medium format

The medium format is still a popular format for demanding amateurs and professionals, as it can store more information due to the larger negative area and thus provides better image quality than the 35mm format, but can still be used flexibly compared to the large format - medium format film is made up as roll film. Modern medium format cameras offer the convenience of modern 35 mm cameras.

ISO light sensitivity (auto)
i

ISO light sensitivity (auto)

The American Standards Association (ASA) and the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) film speed standards have been combined into the ISO standards. The current International Standard for measuring the speed of color negative film is ISO 5800:1987 from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Related standards ISO 6:1993 and ISO 2240:2003 define scales for speeds of black-and-white negative film and color reversal film. This system defines both an arithmetic and a logarithmic scale, combining the previously separate ASA and DIN systems.
Commonly, the logarithmic speed is omitted; for example, "ISO 100" denotes ISO 100/21°.

ISO light sensitivity (manual)
i

ISO light sensitivity (manual)

The ISO 5800 standard defines the light sensitivity of film material.
For both scales: the higher the number, the more light-sensitive the film. For linear ASA scaling, a double value corresponds to twice the sensitivity. In the logarithmic DIN scale, an increase of 3° corresponds to a doubling.
In photography, doubling the light sensitivity of the film material means that under given lighting conditions the exposure time can be halved to avoid camera shake or the lens can be closed one f-stop further to achieve a greater depth of field.

Lens mount
i

Lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.

Contrast-based

Focusing by means of contrast measurement at contour edges is basically the same as focusing the eye, i.e. the photographer, without further aids: The image width of the lens is varied until the brightness curve at light/dark contour edges has a maximum steepness. The camera's processor calculates the frequency distribution in the image, and the greater the proportion of high frequencies (i.e. abrupt light-dark changes), the sharper the image.

Image file formats

Image file formats are standardized means of organizing and storing digital images. Image files are composed of either pixel or vector (geometric) data that are rasterized to pixels when displayed (with few exceptions) in a vector graphic display. The pixels that constitute an image are ordered as a grid (columns and rows); each pixel consists of numbers representing magnitudes of brightness and color.

JPEG

In computing, JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital photography (image). The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality.

JPEG compression is used in a number of image file formats. JPEG/Exif is the most common image format used by digital cameras and other photographic image capture devices; along with JPEG/JFIF, it is the most common format for storing and transmitting photographic images on the World Wide Web. These format variations are often not distinguished, and are simply called JPEG.

Battery-operated

A rechargeable battery or storage battery is a group of one or more electrochemical cells. They are known as secondary cells because their electrochemical reactions are electrically reversible. Rechargeable batteries come in many different shapes and sizes, ranging anything from a button cell to megawatt systems connected to stabilize an electrical distribution network. Several different combinations of chemicals are commonly used, including: lead-acid, nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), lithium ion (Li-ion), and lithium ion polymer (Li-ion polymer).

Rechargeable batteries have lower total cost of use and environmental impact than disposable batteries. Some rechargeable battery types are available in the same sizes as disposable types. Rechargeable batteries have higher initial cost, but can be recharged very cheaply and used many times.

GFX 50s Body (51.40MP, 3FPS, Wi-Fi)

Wer das machen will, kleiner Tipp!
