Description

The new FinePix XP130 extends the rugged lineup with advanced Bluetooth technology, making it even easier to transfer photos and videos to a smartphone or tablet and share them instantly over social networks.

Weighing only 207 grams, the FinePix XP 130 is light enough to take with you on any adventure. The 16.4 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, the 5x FUJINON optical zoom lens and the unrivalled FUJIFILM color technology make this handy camera the ideal companion for all those who prefer to be active outdoors and capture their experiences in brilliant images.

Quadruple protection and handy design

Whether skiing, mountain biking, climbing or beach holidays - the new XP130 is designed for outdoor activities. According to the IP68 standard*1, it is waterproof to a depth of 20 meters, shock-resistant to a drop height of 1.75 meters*2 and fully operational even in freezing temperatures down to minus ten degrees. These rugged features make the XP130 the first camera for children.

The XP130 can be held very comfortably and securely with only one hand in dynamic shooting situations thanks to its advanced handle and the finger recess on the front. The size and arrangement of the buttons allow comfortable operation even when wearing gloves.

Bluetooth® technology and Wi-Fi connectivity

The XP130 is equipped with the new Bluetooth® technology, which makes it very easy to pair the camera with a smartphone or tablet. Via the energy-saving wireless connection, the images are automatically transmitted immediately after recording and can be shared via e-mail or social media, for example. In addition, the time zone and geo-coordinates of the smartphone or tablet are synchronized with the camera and stored in the image data. This wireless function is made possible via the free "FUJIFILM Camera Remote "*3 app. With the Wi-Fi connection*4, only individual images can be transferred from the camera to the smartphone or tablet if desired. The photos can also be sent directly from the XP130 to an INSTAX SHARE printer and printed out immediately.

High-performance sensor and first-class lens

The 16.4 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and the unique FUJIFILM color technology ensure beautiful images in every situation. The zoom lens of the XP130 offers a wide focal length range of 28-140 mm (equivalent to 35 mm format). The telephoto range can even be doubled with the "Intelligent Digital Zoom", so that practically a 10x zoom is available. The integrated optical image stabilizer compensates for camera shake, ensuring sharp images even in high-impact shooting situations.

Image sensor resolution
i

Image sensor resolution

The image sensor resolution results from the number of pixels in millions. For most applications, a resolution of 12-16 megapixels is sufficient. A higher resolution has advantages, especially in post-processing, as more image information is available.

Image sensor type
i

Image sensor type

An image sensor is a device that converts an optical image to an electric signal. It is used mostly in digital cameras and other imaging devices. An image sensor is typically a charge-coupled device (CCD) or a complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) active-pixel sensor.

More information...

CMOS
i

CMOS

Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) is a term for semiconductor devices that use both p-channel and n-channel MOSFETs on a common substrate. CMOS technology refers to both the semiconductor process used to realize integrated digital and analog circuits and a logic family. CMOS technology is the most widely used logic family today and is mainly used for integrated circuits.

ISO light sensitivity (auto)
i

ISO light sensitivity (auto)

The American Standards Association (ASA) and the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) film speed standards have been combined into the ISO standards. The current International Standard for measuring the speed of color negative film is ISO 5800:1987 from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Related standards ISO 6:1993 and ISO 2240:2003 define scales for speeds of black-and-white negative film and color reversal film. This system defines both an arithmetic and a logarithmic scale, combining the previously separate ASA and DIN systems.
Commonly, the logarithmic speed is omitted; for example, "ISO 100" denotes ISO 100/21°.

ISO light sensitivity (manual)
i

ISO light sensitivity (manual)

The ISO 5800 standard defines the light sensitivity of film material.
For both scales: the higher the number, the more light-sensitive the film. For linear ASA scaling, a double value corresponds to twice the sensitivity. In the logarithmic DIN scale, an increase of 3° corresponds to a doubling.
In photography, doubling the light sensitivity of the film material means that under given lighting conditions the exposure time can be halved to avoid camera shake or the lens can be closed one f-stop further to achieve a greater depth of field.

Optical zoom

An optical zoom serves to enlarge the subject in the image section without having to change its position. Optical zooms are superior to digital zooms because zooming does not take place at the expense of image resolution.

Maximum aperture
i

Maximum aperture

Aperture is a (normally mechanical) device on cameras which can be used to change the light transmission through the optical system (lens). It is usually designed as a lamella screen (also known as an iris screen), in which circularly arranged lamella sheets shift into one another in such a way that the light transmission becomes narrower or wider and thus the incident light beam becomes smaller or larger. The iris is positioned in the beam path in such a way that it only acts as an aperture iris diaphragm and not as a field of view diaphragm.

Contrast-based
i

Contrast-based

Focusing by means of contrast measurement at contour edges is basically the same as focusing the eye, i.e. the photographer, without further aids: The image width of the lens is varied until the brightness curve at light/dark contour edges has a maximum steepness. The camera's processor calculates the frequency distribution in the image, and the greater the proportion of high frequencies (i.e. abrupt light-dark changes), the sharper the image.

Image file formats

Image file formats are standardized means of organizing and storing digital images. Image files are composed of either pixel or vector (geometric) data that are rasterized to pixels when displayed (with few exceptions) in a vector graphic display. The pixels that constitute an image are ordered as a grid (columns and rows); each pixel consists of numbers representing magnitudes of brightness and color.

JPEG

In computing, JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital photography (image). The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality.

JPEG compression is used in a number of image file formats. JPEG/Exif is the most common image format used by digital cameras and other photographic image capture devices; along with JPEG/JFIF, it is the most common format for storing and transmitting photographic images on the World Wide Web. These format variations are often not distinguished, and are simply called JPEG.

Battery-operated

A rechargeable battery or storage battery is a group of one or more electrochemical cells. They are known as secondary cells because their electrochemical reactions are electrically reversible. Rechargeable batteries come in many different shapes and sizes, ranging anything from a button cell to megawatt systems connected to stabilize an electrical distribution network. Several different combinations of chemicals are commonly used, including: lead-acid, nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), lithium ion (Li-ion), and lithium ion polymer (Li-ion polymer).

Rechargeable batteries have lower total cost of use and environmental impact than disposable batteries. Some rechargeable battery types are available in the same sizes as disposable types. Rechargeable batteries have higher initial cost, but can be recharged very cheaply and used many times.
