The FiiO Q1 Mark II can be used both as a headphone amplifier for the iPhone and as a DAC on the computer. The Q1 Mark II is Apple MFi certified, ensuring a compatible and high-quality component for iOS devices. The iPhone connects to Q1 Mark II with the included Lightning on micro USB cable for improved sound quality and volume. When connected to a computer with the USB cable, the FiiO Q1 Mark II functions as an external sound card and turns listening to music from the computer into a listening experience with headphones. The Q1 Mark II decodes PCM and DSD formats up to 384 kHz/32 bit directly on the computer and processes up to DSD256 directly without detours, while the built-in AKM AK4452 can also decode high sampling rates with a high signal-to-noise ratio and a low distortion factor. The Q1 Mark II has both a standard 3.5 mm and a balanced 2.5 mm headphone jack and convinces with various functions: a two-stage gain control, a bass gain switch and a robust, finely adjustable analog volume knob. A battery is integrated and provides a running time of approx. 20 hours as headphone amplifier and approx. 10 hours in DAC mode. The compact housing is completely made of metal, therefore very valuable and robust and provides excellent shielding against electromagnetic interference.
