Corsair HX850i (850W)

Description

High performance and incredible efficiency in the quietest Corsair power supplies yet.

The HXi power supply series is characterized by extremely precise voltage regulation, practically noiseless operation and a fully modular cable set. With 100% Japanese 105 degree capacitors, they are ideal for high performance PCs where reliability is essential. The efficiency of 80 PLUS Platinum reduces operating costs and excess heat, and together with Zero RPM fan mode technology, virtually noiseless operation is achieved.

Corsair Link Digital Support lets you monitor power supply performance, switch between single and multi-rail modes, and control fan speed directly from your desktop. And the fully modular, flat cable set makes builds and upgrades a breeze, the results of which are impressive.

The efficiency of 80 PLUS Platinum and Zero-RPM fan mode means that the fans do not rotate at all at low to medium loads. And when you get the HXi going, the thermally controlled fans only spin as fast as necessary.

But that's not all. It is quieter than most power supplies even when the fans are not rotating. The HXi is built with capacitors and other internal components specially selected to reduce coil whistling and other electronic noise.

Connect the included cable to the motherboard's USB header and download the free Corsair Link Dashboard application for Windows. Now you can monitor performance and efficiency, switch between single and multi-rail mode, and control fan speed directly from your desktop.

The fully modular flat cable set enables fast, easy installation and fantastic-looking builds. The fan's self-test switch allows you to quickly check the operation before connecting the cables to the mainboard.

Power supply (computer)

A power supply unit (PSU) is the component that supplies power to the other components in a computer. More specifically, a power supply unit is typically designed to convert general-purpose alternating current (AC) electric power from the mains (100-127V in North America, parts of South America, Japan, and Taiwan; 220-240V in most of the rest of the world) to usable low-voltage DC power for the internal components of the computer. Some power supplies have a switch to change between 230 V and 115 V. Other models have automatic sensors that switch input voltage automatically, or are able to accept any voltage between those limits.

4+4-pin 12V

Motherboards can come with either a 4 pin 12 volt connector or an 8 pin 12 volt connector. Many power supplies come with a 4+4 pin 12 volt cable which is compatible with both 4 and 8 pin motherboards. A 4+4 power cable has two separate 4 pin pieces. If you plug the two pieces of a 4+4 power cable together then you have a 8 pin power cable which can be plugged into an 8 pin 12 volt connector. If you leave the two pieces separate then you can plug one of the 4 pin pieces into a 4 pin 12 volt connector and leave the other 4 pin piece unplugged.

Safety

Power protection features
OVP
i

OVP

Over Voltage Protection protects the PC against overly high voltages. To prevent damages to the PC, the power supply turns off when an over voltage is present.

,
EIA
i

EIA

"Under Voltage Protection", or UVP for short, is a protective mechanism for output direct current. The power supply automatically switches off if the voltage converted by the power supply falls below a defined threshold. This protects the power supply and hardware components against damage.

,
SCP
i

SCP

SCP stands for "Short Circuit Protection" and represents an important protective function for power supplies. If a fault leads to a short circuit in the computer, the SCP function switches off the power supply to prevent additional defects to the hardware.

,
OTP
i

OTP

This important protective circuit stands for Over Temperature Protection. Heat is created within the power supply during control actions. It the interior of the power supply becomes overheated, the OTP protects the electronics against damages.

,
OPP
i

OPP

Similar to the OCP, the OPP is one of the protective circuits built into the power supply. OPP stands for Over Power Protection. If a power supply is operated at an excessive power level, the OPP protects the power supply against a technical breakdown.

HX850i (850W)

Bin Begeistert
