BenQ SW271 (27", 3840 x 2160)

Description

Lifelike, natural colours
Nature and outdoor photographers can look forward to extremely natural colour reproduction, especially in shades of blue and green. The hardware-calibrated monitor is exactly tailored to the needs of photographers and provides a very high color accuracy. The intuitive user interface of the Palette Master Element configuration software ensures user-friendly calibration and a high quality color profile. The representation of the color spaces sRGB and Rec. 709 at 100% each, Adobe RGB at 99% and 93% DCI-P3 is indispensable. Thanks to the HDR (High Dynamic Range) function, the SW271 displays the 4K UHD content in extremely high contrast. The IPS technology also enables a color-constant display over a very wide viewing angle of up to 178° horizontally and vertically. The 14-bit 3D Look-Up-Table (LUT) has a comprehensive depth of detail to perfectly reproduce the original motif. The SW271 also meets the demanding expectations of the target group thanks to the Delta E ≤ 2 colour accuracy.

Ergonomic working and innovative technologies
Ergonomics is essential for hours of image editing sessions. The BenQ SW271 is equipped with a multi-adjustable monitor stand that can be infinitely adjusted in height by 150 mm, rotated 45 degrees from the centre and tilted between -5 and 20 degrees. For the 90 degree pivot function, the supplied anti-glare hood can be easily adapted to portrait format.

With the Hotkey Puck, a wired OSD controller that functions like a remote control, the monitor proves true multifunctionality - with it you can easily switch between different modes at the push of a button. This makes switching between the settings for image editing and for normal web browsing or office tasks easy and uncomplicated.

The Gamut Duo function enables the simultaneous viewing of two images via split screen in different color spaces - regardless of whether the data is fed from one or two separate PCs.

Convenient connection also thanks to USB-C
The SW271 offers comprehensive connectivity with display port, HDMI® and USB 3.0 as well as integrated SD/SDHC/SDXC card readers. The professional display is also equipped with the latest USB C™ port, making it easy to calibrate hardware with just one cable. The USB-C™ port also displays brilliant 4K content and offers a transfer rate of up to 5 Gbps.

Monitors

A monitor or display (sometimes called a visual display unit) is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor comprises the display device, circuitry, and an enclosure. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while older monitors use a cathode ray tube about as deep as the screen size.

Charcoal

Anthracite is the most metamorphosed type of coal (but still represents low-grade metamorphism), in which the carbon content is between 92% and 98%.[2][3] The term is applied to those varieties of coal which do not give off tarry or other hydrocarbon vapours when heated below their point of ignition. Anthracite ignites with difficulty and burns with a short, blue, and smokeless flame

A display device is an output device for presentation of information for visual, tactile or auditory reception, acquired, stored, or transmitted in various forms. When the input information is supplied as to electrical signal, the display is called electronic display. Electronic displays are available for presentation of visual, tactile and auditory information.

Screen size (inches)
i

Screen size (inches)

The size of a display is typically indicated by the distance (in inches) between two opposite corners. One problem with this method is that no distinction is made between aspect ratios although the area decreases with the same diagonal the less square the display is. For example, a 21" 4:3 aspect ratio display has an area of approximately 211 square inches, while a 16:9 21" monitor has an area of only approximately 188 square inches.

i

Image resolution

Image resolution is a colloquial measure of the image size of a raster graphic. It is indicated by the total number of pixels or by the number of columns (width) and rows (height) of a raster graphic.

Aspect ratio
i

Aspect ratio

The aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of the width of the image to its height, expressed as two numbers separated by a colon. That is, for an x:y aspect ratio, no matter how big or small the image is, if the width is divided into x units of equal length and the height is measured using this same length unit, the height will be measured to be y units. Aspect ratios are mathematically expressed as x:y.

Refresh rate
i

Refresh rate

The refresh rate (most commonly the "vertical refresh rate", "vertical scan rate" for CRTs) is the number of times in a second that a display hardware draws the data. This is distinct from the measure of frame rate in that the refresh rate includes the repeated drawing of identical frames, while frame rate measures how often a video source can feed an entire frame of new data to a display.

For example, most movie projectors advance from one frame to the next one 24 times each second. But each frame is illuminated two or three times before the next frame is projected using a shutter in front of its lamp. As a result, the movie projector runs at 24 frames per second, but has a 48 or 72 Hz refresh rate.

Brightness
i

Brightness

Brightness is an attribute of visual perception in which a source appears to emit a given amount of light. In other words, brightness is the perception elicited by the luminance of a visual target. This is a subjective attribute/property of an object being observed.

Colour depth
i

Colour depth

The color depth determines an essential property of raster and vector graphics: the differentiation of all brightness and color values.
The maximum possible number of (color) gradations is given in bits and thus designates the color depth of an image. These gradations represent a scale on which the actual color information is stored. The color depth is therefore the mathematical basis of the actual color information. In practice, an image never has the amount of colors that the range of this scale (color depth) provides.

A color depth of 1 bit would mean that in one color channel (usually red, green and blue on the computer screen) exactly two states would be possible. As an example, this would be black and red for the color channel red. With a color depth of 2 bits 4 states would be possible, for example black, dark red, medium red and light red. With the usual color depth of 8 bits, 28 = 256 states and thus just as many individual red tones are possible.

Pixel pitch

Pixel pitch is a specification for a computer display or other pixel-based device that describes the distance, for example, between dots (sub-pixels) of the same color on the inside of a display screen. According to several different EU Directives (92/75/CEE, 94/2/CE, 95/12/CE, 96/89/CE, 2003/66/CE, et alia) most white goods, light bulb packaging and cars must have an EU Energy Label clearly displayed when offered for sale or rent. The energy efficiency of the appliance is rated in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes from A to G on the label, A being the most energy efficient, G the least efficient. The labels also give other useful information to the customer as they choose between various models. The information should also be given in catalogues and included by internet retailers on their websites.

HDR functionality

HDR can vary as compatibility from manufacturer to manufacturer in the true sense. Basically, the HDR function for monitors differs from the HDR function for TVs. The biggest distinction so far is made here in the bit rate or color depth of the panels and the brightness (candela per square meter (cd/m²)). "For example, "HDR-10" standard includes 10-bit panels, "DolbyVision" 12-bit panels. Therefore, the following applies here: Inform exactly! Currently, HDR compatibility for monitors is only achieved by scaling content.
