With the Eisbaer Alphacool fundamentally revolutionizes the AIO cooler market. If classic AIO CPU coolers are disposable products that are neither expandable nor refillable, the Alphacool Eisbaer has a modular design and can be extended, converted or refilled at any time. This means that the Polar Bear is not simply an AIO but is based entirely on classic water cooling components. This means it is quieter and more powerful than the average AIO solution.
The components in detail:
Alphacool relies on a radiator made of solid copper. The basis of the radiator is the popular Alphacool NexXxoS series which is extremely popular worldwide. The pure copper construction increases the cooling capacity enormously compared to the usual aluminium radiators of classical AIOs. The low fin density provides enormous cooling performance for low speed fans. This means that the power of the polar bears decreases much more slowly when the fans are turned down than with radiators with a high fin density.
The flexible PVC hoses facilitate the installation of the polar bears. This makes it easier to install the hoses and bring them into the correct position. To prevent them from buckling and thus stop the flow of water, kink protection springs are fitted on both hoses. The size 11/8mm also comes from the normal water cooling range and is a common size here besides 13/10 and 16/10.
The Polar Bear has been designed directly for extensibility. Therefore you will find a quick-release fastener on one of the hoses. This quick release is compatible with the Alphacool HF quick release fasteners, which makes it easy to add a radiator with a graphics card cooler to the circuit.
Furthermore, the Eisbaer is compatible to the upcoming Alphacool GPX-Pro graphics cards AIO which will use identical quick-release fasteners.
The Eiswind fans are specially designed for radiators and generate a high static pressure to push cool air between the fins. Both fans can be controlled via PWM over an enormous range of 550 to 1700 rpm. A PWM Y-Adapter is included with the Eisbaer, so both fans can be controlled via a PWM connector on their mainboard or a separate fan controller.
All connections are based on the classic G1/4 inch thread, the standard thread for water cooling. Therefore, all connections can be exchanged for others at any time if desired. This also means that they can later use thicker hoses or even hard tubes to make their system more individual.
All these features make the Eisbaer cooler something very special. The upgraded optics through the illuminated logo and the illuminated compensation tank in which the pump is also located, make the interior of every PC shine in new splendour. The soft-touch surface of the pump housing is another optical highlight.
With the Polar Bear you get an all around perfect product that is not only extremely powerful but can also work very quietly.
The basis of the pump is the Alphacool DC-LT Ceramic Ultra Low Noise which is also available separately. The pump runs extremely quietly and can be regulated from 7 to 12V. Control via the mainboard is also possible. Who operates the polar bears alone, will have hardly a loss of performance on 7V as various test results can testify. The insulated pump housing further perfects the noise development and also ensures that vibrations are almost completely absorbed.
The bright and smooth polished copper base of the cooler also ensures optimum heat absorption and can pass this on to the water quickly and efficiently via the fine cross slot structure of the cooler.…more
