Advantech EKI-1511X

The EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X are serial device servers that connect serial RS-422/485 devices such as PLCs, counters, and sensors to an IP-based Ethernet LAN. They allow nearly any device with serial interfaces to connect and share an Ethernet network. The EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X offer various operating modes: COM port redirection (virtual COM port), TCP server, TCP client, and UDP mode. In COM port redirection mode, standard serial operation calls are transparently redirected to the EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X, ensuring compatibility with legacy serial devices and maintaining backward compatibility with existing software. With the TCP server, TCP client, and UDP modes, the EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X ensure compatibility with network software that uses a standard network API. Additionally, you can enable peer-to-peer communication between serial devices without the need for intermediary host PCs and software programming. With their compact and sleek IP30 metal housing, the EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X can be easily installed in a control cabinet. The EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X feature an RS-422/485 connection, allowing users to set up physical wiring without manually crafted plugs.
