When to order if you need your parcel before Christmas

Christmas is the time of buying presents for your loved ones. We deliver orders quickly, but there are limits to everything. We’ve asked our colleagues in the warehouse in Wohlen when you need to place your order at the latest if you want it to arrive in time for Christmas.

First things first: This is no guarantee that things will turn out exactly as planned. Christmas is an exceptionally busy time for us: We hire a large number of additional helpers in Wohlen and even employees from other departments step in and help out in the warehouse to make sure that your order arrives on time. However, it's always possible that something doesn't work as planned and a parcel can’t be shipped on time. If you want to be on the safe side, don't wait until the very last moment to order gifts.

We talked to Thomas Amhof, Supply Chain Manager in Wohlen. Here’s what he said: «For post deliveries to your home address, our official recommendation is to place your order on Thursday 21 December at 5 p.m. at the latest.» These orders are expected to arrive at your home on Friday 22 December or at the very latest on Saturday 23 December. «Most products that are ordered on Friday will arrive on Saturday, but all it needs is for something to go wrong with us or the Swiss Post and our customers won’t receive their order in time for Christmas. Please keep in mind that this only applies to products that are available from our warehouse and can be sent by letter or parcel post. Cargo deliveries take longer, as a delivery date needs to be arranged.»

Cargo? That’s anything that’s bulky, large, heavy and needs to be delivered on pallets.

Your last chance

For last-minute shoppers, here’s some hope: For pick-up in one of our stores, you need to place your order on Saturday 23 December at the latest. This applies to all available products under 30 kg, whereas the exact order deadline is different from store to store:

  • Geneva: 4:45 a.m.
  • Lausanne: 05:45 a.m.
  • Bern: 05:45 a.m.
  • Kriens: 06:45 a.m.
  • Basel: 07:20 a.m.
  • Winterthur: 08:10 a.m.
  • St. Gallen: 08:10 a.m.
  • Dietikon: 08:45 a.m.
  • Zurich: 10:30 a.m.
  • Wohlen: 1:00 p.m.

Any questions? We wish you a merry Christmas – may all your parcels arrive on time.
